Veteran broadcaster, diplomat, and business leader Dr. Christopher Kolade has passed away peacefully at the age of 93. Widely respected for his integrity and intellect, Kolade’s death marks the end of an era in Nigeria’s corporate and public life.
Born in Erin-Oke, Osun State, in 1932 to an Anglican missionary, Kolade attended Government College, Ibadan, and later studied at Fourah Bay College, Freetown. His career spanned broadcasting, academia, diplomacy, and corporate leadership. He served as Director-General of the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation, Chairman and CEO of Cadbury Nigeria Plc, and later as Nigeria’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom.
A passionate advocate for ethics and leadership, Kolade taught at the Lagos Business School and Pan-Atlantic University, where he also served as Pro-Chancellor and Council Chairman. He chaired the Integrity Organisation and Convention on Business Integrity, dedicating his later years to promoting transparency and good governance in Nigeria.
