Maureen Jesse (Panelist)
Maureen Jesse is a law student at Taraba State University and a software developer, holding a diploma certificate in Software Engineering from Altschool Africa. She is passionate about technology, empowering women in the digital space, and bridging the gender gap in tech. Driven by this vision, Maureen founded Ladies Igniting Change an initiative dedicated to uniting young women to collaborate on impactful projects that promote the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Her dedication to advancing the SDGs earned her recognition as an alumna of the prestigious United Nations Millennium Fellowship. She was also named among the 30 Changemakers in Nigeria by Opportunity Desk and featured as a Female Changemaker of the Month in March 2022 by the same platform.
Maureen is the visionary of Taraba Tech Girls is an online community aimed at bridging the gender gap in tech by encouraging and supporting women in Taraba State, Nigeria, and beyond to pursue careers in technology.
At this year’s Taraba Social Media Festival, Maureen is one of our mentors for the fourth edition of the event and will share her experience as a software developer and changemaker during the panel discussion. His session promises to inspire and equip participants with actionable insights tailored to the unique potential of Taraba.
