An open letter to His Excellency Dr Agbu Kefas The Executive Governor of Taraba State.
Your Excellency.
I trust this letter finds you in excellent health and high spirits.
I write to you as a younger brother, an admirer, a mentee, and a devoted supporter.
I campaigned wholeheartedly for your emergence as governor, fully convinced by your antecedents that you will bring lasting peace and progress to Taraba State. Few out of what some people put before us as a fear about your emergence manifested and many out of what we put before them as a reason's to rally round you manifested. I remember vividly that I told some people that your emergence as governor in Taraba State means that we will experience peace more especially in southern Taraba. Let me first congratulate you on your landmark policy of FREE EDUCATION, a historical and transformative initiative and first of its kind in Taraba State.
This bold step reflects your vision and commitment to uplifting your people.
However, the main reason for this letter is to humbly draw your attention to an issue I believe deserve early intervention.
Across Nigeria, we have often seen political leaders lament after leaving office, blaming their closest allies for missteps that could have been avoided.i urge you to take closer look at your immediate circle and think tank, as some individual may inadvertently be sowing seeds of division and disunity among themselves and the wider polity. Some of them are too desperate for political power not minding it will affect your re-emergence as governor of Taraba State. They're busy crushing themselves and bruising the masses for their personal gain.
At this crucial time, they should be rallying round to garner support for you and bringing aggrieved individual to your table for political reconciliation. We shouldn't undermine the strategies of opposition. Those individual are seen as desperados and should not trusted with the future of the people.
Sir, I appeal to you not to reward individual solely for past loyalty or personal favour with political offices, instead prioritize credible candidates who can unite our people beyond ethnic, religious, or political divides. It's our future and that of our great grand children. Let the masses take their fate in their hand. The people are aware and discerning, they rally behind leaders who embody unity and fairness.
You should also be wary of individuals who betray their brothers or friends to acquire, consolidate, or augment political gain, they might in turn down the same to you if desire to climb higher.
Your Excellency, I urge you to shield your sword and unite us in Wukari and southern Taraba, only you have what it takes to do that for posterity purposes. The masses yearn for leaders who bring us together not those perceived as desperate self-serving.
With your wisdom and inclusive leadership, I believe you can consolidate the gain of your administration and leave a lasting legacy of unity, equity, and progress.
With most respect and unwavering loyalty.
Thanks.
