For those already in school who wish to retake JAMB. You'll need to forfeit/withdraw your admission first before you can purchase this year's JAMB form. It's now a 50/50 risk-taking game.

If you are currently in any university, polytechnic, college of education, or other tertiary institution, and you plan to write UTME again this year, please read carefully.

‎JAMB has officially stated that:

‎You cannot run two admissions or two schools at the same time.

‎You will not be allowed to participate in the current admission process unless you first withdraw from your present school.

‎ This means:
‎If you are already admitted or studying somewhere and you want to change school or course through UTME, you must formally withdraw from your current institution and obtain an official proof of withdrawal, which will be required during the admission process.

‎Without this, JAMB will disqualify your admission, even if you score high.

FG, ASUU Reach Landmark Agreement: Lecturers to Receive 40% Salary Increase

The federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have reached a historic agreement that will see lecturers across Nigeria receive a 40% salary increase. The deal, which concludes the renegotiation of the 2009 FGN–ASUU Agreement, also includes improved pension benefits, enhanced university funding, and stronger academic freedom.

Under the new arrangement, professors will receive a pension equivalent to their annual salary at retirement, while universities will benefit from dedicated allocations for research, libraries, laboratories, equipment, and staff development. A proposed National Research Council (NRC) will fund research with at least 1% of Nigeria’s GDP.

The agreement also introduces elected academic leadership positions for Deans and Provosts, open only to professors, and guarantees no victimization for those involved in the negotiation process. The terms take effect from January 1, 2026, and will be reviewed after three years.

ASUU has urged the government to implement the agreement promptly and extend negotiations to other university unions to ensure stability in the sector.

A Boat of Steadfastness: The journey of UDUS Overall Best Graduating Medical Student

By Azeez Aisha

At Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto, Main Campus, the auditorium was serenaded with echoes of excitement as hundreds of jubilant faces emerged and shared the moment of the induction of newly graduated medical doctors into the medical profession. On Monday, December 22, 2025, the graduating medical doctors reaffirmed their commitment to the medical profession through the swearing of an oath by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN), marking the beginning of their journey as licensed medical practitioners.

Amid the celebration, one name stands out as the overall best graduating student of the College of Health Sciences.

The provost, College of Health Sciences, Prof. AbdulGaffar O.Jimoh, and Dr. Habeebullahi Adamu formally made the announcement of Dr. Maimunat Musa Suleiman as the overall best graduating student during the award and prize-giving segment of the occasion.

For Dr. Maimunat Musa Suleiman, the recognition was both humbling and a deep fulfillment.

"It feels incredibly fulfilling and humbling,” she said.”Knowing that years of hard work, sleepless nights, and consistent efforts have finally paid off is truly rewarding.”

Her booming face of happiness has overshadowed the hard labour and overwhelming days at medical school.

"My main motivation was my family. The joy on my mum’s face at the end of every conquered semester, and the joy and pride on my siblings’ faces whenever I achieved something remarkable, made me realize I couldn’t afford to disappoint,” she added.

It's a testimony to her hard work and resilience toward achieving great strides and setting a positive example for her younger ones, who look up to her as a role model. Her faith and passion for learning also played a huge role in keeping her focused.

My Health Is The Major Challenge– Dr. Muimunat Says

She recounts how health issues were a major challenge in her first a
