TARABA GOVERNOR'S MOTHER AND DAUGHTER ATTACKED BY SUSPECTED BANDITS

Gunmen, suspected to be bandits, reportedly attacked Jumai Kefas, mother of Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, and her daughter, Atsi Kefas, along Kente Road in Wukari Local Government Area of the state on Thursday.

The attack, described as “deeply troubling” by Wukari council chairman Dauda Samaila Agbu, left Atsi Kefas with a gunshot wound.

She was initially treated at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Wukari before being airlifted to Abuja for further medical attention.

“Her condition was stabilized before she was airlifted to Abuja,” Dauda said, assuring residents that efforts are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.

The funeral service of Taoreed Lagbaja will be at the International Christian Centre, Abuja, on Friday, November 15.

TARABA STATE GOVERNMENT FLAGS OFF THE DISTRIBUTION OF MOBILE SCIENCE EQUIPMENT.

As part of the commitment to implement the free education policy to the latter, the Taraba State Governor Dr Agbu Agbu Kefas' has formally Flagged off the Distribution and training on the use of Mobile Science Laboratory Kits for Secondary Schools in the state.

The distribution ceremony which took place at the Nyamusala Government Secondary School Jalingo was attended by Government functionaries.

The Free education policy of the Taraba state Government declared by Governor Abu Kefas shortly after assuming office has yet again received a boost as another component of the policy which is the technology aspect generally believed to be a vital component and a driving factor in achieving the desired goals of the policy has taken off.

Deputy Governor Alh Aminu Abdullahi Alkali who represented the Governor said implementing the free education policy and its components is non-negotiable.

The commissioner for science and Technology, Hon Muslim Aruwa whose ministry is saddled with the responsibility of organizing the occasion as well as the distribution and training, described science equipment in the implementation of the free education policy as critical.

The permanent secretary of the Ministry of Education, Alh Idris Goje,
principal of Nyamusala Secondary School Jalingo, Freda Amos,
and the vice chancellor of Taraba State University Jalingo, Professor Sunday Paul Bako all described the distribution of the science laboratory kits as timely.
