Nigeria’s Foreign Minister Set to Strengthen Diplomatic Ties with the UK.

Nigeria’s minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, will lead a high-level working visit to the United Kingdom as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen diplomatic ties and enhance strategic cooperation across key sectors.

The Honourable Minister’s visit will deepen Nigeria-UK relations across multiple sectors, including trade, investment, technology, media, and academia, a statement by the Ministry’s Acting Spokesperson, Kimiebi Imomotimi Ebienfa noted on 3rd March, 2025.

Nigeria Commiserates with Turkiye Over Ski Resort Fire Incident

The Federal Republic of Nigeria has expressed deep condolences to the Government and People of the Republic of Turkiye over the unfortunate fire incident at the Grand Kartal Hotel in the Kartalkaya Ski Resort.

The fire, which claimed the lives of 66 persons and injured over 50 others in Bolu Province in Northwestern Turkiye, was reported to have started in the early hours of Tuesday 21st January 2025.

NDLEA Arrests India-bound Nursing Student Over Attempt to Ingest 76 Wraps of Co***ne.

Attempt by 26-year-old Esther Onyinyechi Uzodinma, a 200-level student of nursing at the Noida International University, Uttar Pradesh, India, to swallow 76 wraps of co***ne hours before her return flight to the South Asian country through the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport, MAKIA, Kano, has been thwarted by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA.

Esther was scheduled to return to Delhi, India from MAKIA Kano on Qatar Airways flight 1432 on Friday 17th January 2025 but was arrested in her room at 11:30 pm on Thursday 16th January at Royal Park Hotel Sabon Garin Kano, while awaiting the co***ne consignment she was to ingest before her flight the following morning.

Design Curricula that Prioritize Experiential Learning—Prof. Gold Urges Education Industry Stakeholders

The President, Ijaw Diaspora Council, Prof. Mondy Selle Gold has urged education industry stakeholders to design curricula that prioritize experiential learning, so as to enable students to engage with live projects, collaborate with start-ups, and navigate real-world challenges.

Prof. Gold, who stated this on November 30, 2024 at Emmanuel University’s 2023/2024 Post-Doctoral Graduation Ceremony, where he gave the keynote address on the topic: “Entrepreneurship Education: Bridging the Academia-Industry gap”, explained that it is not enough for students to learn how to write business plans or analyze case studies.
