Public Notice - Ban on Hawking and Illegal Trading Around Maiduguri Monday Market

This is to inform members of the public that following the unfortunate fire incident at the Maiduguri Monday Market, and its eventual rehabilitation, the Borno State Government has taken measures to ensure a smooth take-off of the rehabilitated Monday Market.

Therefore, Government has imposed a ban on all hawkers, illegal stalls, display of marchandise and all forms of trading around the external perimeters of the Monday Market. The ban also applies to the following access areas: Gidan Madara, Ahmadu Bello Way, Post Office Roundabout, Tobbaco Road, Kofa Biyu and Rabiu Zangina One way.

This ban is with immediate effect. All violators will face the wrath of the law and their goods will be confiscated.
