Governor Fintiri Greets Elder-statesman Bamanga Tukur @88

Adamawa State Governor, the Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri sends his warm greetings to Elderstatesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur on his 88th birthday anniversary.
The former National Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party was also Governor of the defunct Gongola State.
Governor Fintiri describes the Octogenarian as a great citizen of Nigeria whose ideas and indelible imprints in the service and contributions to the nation,and humanity in general remains a reference point in the positive discourse of Nigeria’s progress,unity and stability.

“Adamawa State celebrates this elder statesman whose outstanding achievements in the service of Nigeria brought a lot of pride and honour to the State; The accomplishments he recorded and leadership he demonstrated in his political career and business world have continued to inspire the younger generation to commit to the growth and development of the nation.
He commended the leadership exhibited by Bamanga Tukur during his tenure as National Chairman of the PDP, where he ensured its unity in the face of daunting challenges.
Governor Fintiri also noted his fatherly advise whenever the need arises especially at some difficult periods of the State’s development.
The Governor urged Alhaji Bamanga Tukur to continue to avail his wealth of experience and knowledge to Adamawa and the nation, especially in the current efforts to address the economic challenges bedeviling the country.

Tinubu Hails Ex-PDP Chairman, Bamanga Tukur, At 88

President Bola Tinubu has sent his warm congratulations to the former Executive Governor of the old Gongola State, Alhaji Bamanga Muhammad Tukur, who will turn 88 on September 15, 2023.

The President, in a statement by his media aide, Ajuri Ngelale, joined the family, friends, business and political associates of the Tafidan Adamawa and Wakilin Ganye in celebrating this new age, heralded by years of selfless and sacrificial contributions to the development of Nigeria’s private and public sectors with a rich legacy of philanthropy and service to the nation across various capacities.

President Tinubu further extolled the former national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for his visionary leadership, which is remarkably reflected in his democratic credentials of contesting and winning elections, while consistently advocating for good governance nationwide.

As the former General Manager of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) and Minister of Industries clocks 88, the President affirmed that his wealth of experience and wisdom, accruing through many years of service—most recently as the Executive President of the African Business Roundtable and Chairman of the NEPAD Business Group—will always serve as an important resource pool for growth in Nigeria, and Africa.

President Tinubu prayed that the Almighty God will continue to strengthen Alhaji Tukur, and his family in good health, and comprehensive well-being.

The Executive Governor of Adamawa State Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has approved the appointment of the following Members as task force committee for implementation of report of the committee of the retrieval of government houses/quaters occupied in the guise of owner occupier Housing scheme.

The secretary to the state government of Adamawa state, Hon. Awwal D. Tukur was on inspection visit, to the Adamawa State water Board today.

He said, he is in the office to inspect water equipment of the board as directed by His Excellency Ahmadu Umaru Executive Governor of Adamawa state, for prompt response.

He was taken round by the permanent Secretary Ministry of Water Resources Adamawa State Michael Madugu.

Today (Tuesday) 11/07/2023, the Secretary to the State Government Adamawa State Hon Awwal D Tukur Receive delegation of the National Union Adamawa State Student (NUADS)

In his remake, the SSG urged them to give maximum attention to their studies and be good ambassadors of the state all the times.

He further commended governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for the reforms he introduced in the education sector, which includes scholarship review, payment of WAEC and NECO to students.

Earlier in his speech the leader of the delegation comrade Ahmed Rufa'i Ahmed congratulate the SSG on his well deserved new appointment and promise the support of his entire members to governor Fintiri lead government.

He also thank the Governor for his wonderful initiative particularly in education sector..

The executive members of the Muslim Council of Adamawa state, payed a courtesy call on the Secretary to the Government of Adamawa state Hon Awwal D Tukur.

While expressing happiness for the visit, the SSG, urged Muslim community in the state to continue praying for the success of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri lead administration.

For meaningful development in the state, Hon Awwal, urged the council to promote peace and peaceful coexistence.among Muslims and Non-Muslims alike as the Adamawa State government is always ready to pertner with them to achieve that

Earlier in his speech, the Chairman of the Council, Mallam Gambo Jika, said they were in his house to congratulate him for his new appointment as SSG and also commended Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for picking Awwal D Tukur as his SSG.

He further described Awwal as a true democrat who has a very good listening ears whom he also strongly believe can deliver the responsibilities given to him by the Governor.

Today (Saturday ) 08/07/2023, the Secretary to the State Government Hon Awwal D Tukur has attended 2023 Annual Symposium organized by the MSSN American University of Nigeria Yola Branch.

Giving academic advise to the students, the SSG urged them to pay attention to their studies and be good ambassadors of Islam all the times.

Barr Tukur commended governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for reforms introduced in the education sector, and for making it free at primary and secondary levels.

He said this singular act has improved NECO and WAEC examination results in the state.
He stated that education will continue to remain the priority of the state government, pointing out that a lot of transformations will take place in the sector in his second term.

Present at the event are community leaders, top government officials and prominent Islamic scholars.

Highlight of the event include Islamic lectures and songs, presentation of gifts and certificates of merit to many students.

The SSG Adamawa State was at the AUN academic annual MSSN symposium programme today 8th July, 2023.

He offered hilarious academic advice under a topic titled "Academic Advice to Student" where he reminded them the importance of practicalizing what they were though, be good ambassadors to both their parents and the society and most importantly to know that they are all leaders at their respective levels of human endeavor.

He thanked the outgoing AUN MSSN excos under the leadership of Muhammad Jaji for their tremendous services rendered and congratulated the newly elected ones wishing them the very best in discharging their responsibilities.

Meanwhile, Director Admin and academic planning AUN academic thanked SSG for honoring their invitation and pray for Allah's guidance in discharging his responsibilities and subsequently become the best performing SSG in the state.

The SSG Hon. Awwal D. Tukur received delegation of AUDA-NEPAD under the leadership of Yahaya Ahmed
Head Of New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) Briefed SSG on their achievements and activities from 2019 to Date.

Their objectives is to achieve political stability/Democracy, economic development and regional integration base on the following thematic areas
- Democracy and political governance
- Economic government and management
- corporate governance
- Socio-economic development

Meanwhile the Sector Commandant of the Nigeria Road Safety Corps Adamawa State (FRSC) paid a courtesy visit to the SSG and promise to liase with the state government.

Governor Fintiri Launches Labondo Integrated Project For IDPs In Adamawa

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Tuesday Launched the Labondo Local Integrated Pilot Project for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Girei Local Government Area of the state

Speaking at the event, Governor Fintiri expressed appreciation to both local and international partners of the housing scheme.

The Governor said: "I wish to commend and thank the UNHRC, the Central Emergency Fund (CERF) and Nigerian Humanitarian Fund (NHF) for their commitment, resilience and diligence to ensuring that the Labondo Project is executed and implemented successfully".

Ahmadu Fintiri also promised to build a new school, police outpost and deploy personnel to the camp to meet the needs of the people reiterating that his administration would not relent in its determination to transforming the state.

He called on the people of the area to live in peace and harmony with one another in order to benefit from more meaningful developmental projects in the state.

In her remarks,the UNHCR Country Representative, Nigeria, Mrs Chansa Kapaya expressed profound gratitude to the Adamawa State Government for providing the overall leadership of the pilot project.

Earlier, the Council Chairman of Girei Local Government, Judah Hamisa commended Governor Ahmadu Fintiri for his administration's contributions to Internally Displaced Persons and the entire people of the state.

The 454 households have the capacity to accommodate approximately 2,700 Internally Displaced Persons conveniently.

Highlight of the event was various cultural display and musical interludes.
