Israel’s heart had wandered after Baal. Elijah stood alone against 450 prophets. He rebuilt the broken altar of the Lord with twelve stones, laid the sacrifice, and drenched it in water. Then he prayed. Suddenly, fire fell from heaven, consuming the sacrifice, the wood, the stones, the dust, and even the water in the trench. The people fell to their knees, crying, “The Lord, He is God!”
*Inspirational Story of the Day*
Miriam had been struggling with coldness in her prayer life. One night during an all-night vigil, a prophetic word came — “The Lord will light your altar again.” Moments later, she felt a surge of holy fire within, her tongue loosed in prayer like never before.
