Transforming Primary Health Care in Plateau State
Under the visionary leadership of Dr. Raymond Juryit, Executive Secretary of the Plateau State Primary Health Care Board, basic health services in the state have undergone a remarkable transformation, reaching international standards.
Thanks to the support of His Excellency, the journey began with the complete rehabilitation of six Primary Health Care Centers (PHCs) across select local government areas including Pankshin, Langtang North, Jos South, Qua’an Pan, Mangu, Kanke, and Jos East.
More recently, His Excellency has approved the revitalization of 82 PHCs across the state a bold step toward improving access to quality healthcare for all. In addition, doctors, nurses, and midwives are being recruited to strengthen healthcare delivery at the grassroots.
To further support maternal health and reduce mortality, “Mama kits” are now being provided free of charge at PHCs, ensuring safer deliveries for expectant mothers.
Plateau State is on a new path in healthcare one driven by dedication, vision, and impact.
