Troops recover body of kidnapped Fulani community leader in Plateau, arrest suspect

Troops of Sector 4 under Operation Enduring Peace have recovered the decomposing body of a kidnapped community leader, Alhaji Lawal Abubakar Wakili of Kekong, during a search-and-rescue operation in Gashish District, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Security sources said the discovery was made at about 070930A on May 6 when troops, in collaboration with local residents, conducted a coordinated search within the fringes of Kurra, Jokko hills and surrounding bush areas.

The victim was reportedly abducted earlier at Gashish, prompting sustained search operations by troops and community members in the area.

Following the recovery of the body, tensions reportedly rose in parts of the community, with aggrieved residents demanding the release of suspects earlier arrested in connection with the kidnapping.

The sources said troops quickly brought the situation under control through engagement and assurance that due process and justice would be followed in handling the case.

In a related development, one Chiroma Bello Abdulkarim, 67, of Ningon village in Gashish District, was arrested in connection with the kidnapping and killing of the victim.

He is currently in custody undergoing investigation alongside other suspects linked to the incident.

Security operatives said calm had been restored in the area, while efforts were ongoing to track additional suspects believed to be connected to the crime.

They added that investigation was being intensified to uncover the circumstances surrounding the abduction and ensure all those involved are brought to justice.

Former SSA To Zamfara State Governor Petitioned Twin Police Officers For Illegally Detaining Him.

Mr. Muhammad Musa, who was former Senior Special Assistant to Former Zamfara state Governor, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, petitioned Hassan Gimba and Hussaini Gimba, twin police officers who arrested him and leveraged his properties and finances over what he called “False accusation”.

Musa said that the twin officers further demanded huge part of his properties after releasing him, and threatened him to keep the whole matter under carpet.

He further claimed that it was the same twin officers who murdered a Kaduna-based vocal critic, Abubakar Dadiyata in his presence. Hence, they demanded that he either cooperate or face the same wrath as Dadiyata.

Musa called on the Inspector General of Police to trace the issue and take drastic action against the twin policemen, who usually vowed that they are “untouchable”.

Dadiyata Shot To Death

Recent reports confirmed that Abubakar Dadiyata, a vocal critic of the Nigerian government and a Journalist was shot to death.

Dadiyata was arrested in his residence in Kaduna after his fierce criticism of the then APC government under Late Muhammadu Buhari, El-rufa'i's Kaduna government and Ganduje's Kano government.

Since after his sudden “unlawful” arrest, Dadiyata went missing without any trace.

Muhammad Musa, former SSA to Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state wrote on his page hours ago that he witnessed the death of Dadiyata, who according to him was shot by a police officer by the name Hussaini Gimba.

Recently, Nasir El-rufa'i, Former Kaduna State Governor, denied his association with Dadiyata's missing. Saying he was never a threat to his government, noted that Dadiyata's outrages were more harmful to Ganduje's Kano state government.

Is this the end of the seasoned question “Where is Dadiyata?”.

Troops Raid Berom Militia Arms Factories in Vom, Plateau State

For years, innocent people have been misled with narratives blaming outsiders for the persistent violence and killings across Plateau State. But recent discoveries are beginning to expose a disturbing reality that some of the weapons allegedly used in these attacks were being secretly fabricated by Berom militants themselves.

Troops of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) have uncovered illegal arms manufacturing factories in Vom, Jos South LGA of Plateau State, exposing what security sources describe as a dangerous network fueling violence and bloodshed across communities.

Acting on weeks of intelligence gathering and covert surveillance, the Quick Response Force (QRF) stormed two clandestine weapon-production sites and arrested five suspected Berom militia members allegedly involved in fabricating arms used in deadly attacks and targeted killings within the state.

Items recovered during the operation include nine fabricated AK-47 rifles, one locally made pistol, four empty magazines, seven skeleton AK-47 rifles, and 10 rifle butts-discoveries that raise fresh concerns over the scale of illegal weapon production and insecurity in Plateau State.

The operation marks a major breakthrough in the fight against armed militias and criminal networks threatening peace and stability in the region and the entire state.

Let's keep sharing until their evil machinations are completely uncovered. Let's ask ourselves, is this the first, second or third time of such discoveries? The answer is no. Therefore, let them face the wrath of law as soon as possible.
