Saddest News from Zamfara: Umar Moriki, a respected APC chieftain, has reportedly been shot dead by suspected bandits.

💔 According to sources, he was ambushed this morning on the Gusau–Tsafe highway near Fegi village in Tsafe LGA, while traveling from Gusau to Kaduna.

🗣️ The Zamfara APC, through its Publicity Secretary Yusuf Idris, confirmed the tragedy — saying it’s a devastating loss for both the party and the state.

📌 Moriki wasn’t just a politician — he served as Vice Chairman of Zurmi LGA, was a Director-General of a state agency, and also a Special Adviser on Rural Electrification.

👪 He was 62 years old, with three wives and several children.

🙏 This is yet another chilling reminder of how insecurity and banditry continue to haunt Zamfara State — even targeting top leaders.

📢 We must speak out:

1. Demand urgent government action to secure our highways and protect citizens.

2. Call for stronger punishment for those terrorizing our communities.

3. Pray for his family, and for peace to return to Zamfara.

Na which direction we dey go like this? 🤦‍♂️🇳🇬

So the Federal Government has now suspended the use of our indigenous languages as a medium of instruction in schools — but somehow found space to add Chinese (Mandarin) to the secondary school curriculum.

Imagine o!🤷
Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa, Tiv, Efik, Fulfulde… the very languages that carry our identity are being pushed aside, while we rush to adopt Chinese.

Nobody is saying learning Mandarin is bad — but how do you sideline your own mother tongues first? Which country develops by abandoning its cultural roots?

A nation that forgets its language is a nation preparing to lose its soul.

Dear leaders, teach us global languages, yes — but don’t erase the ones that make us who we are.
Preserve our identity… before it becomes a museum piece.
