‘I wont Join my Uncle to Support Tinubu’ – Davido says

Nigerian Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has ruled out supporting the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 presidential election, saying he has yet to identify a candidate he wants to back.

The singer disclosed this in an interview with News Central in August, explaining that although his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu, he is not obliged to follow the governor’s political choices

Adeleke won Osun governorship in August under Accord Party with 511,067 votes against APC’s 444,815, then declared support for Tinubu’s second term and was named coordinator of Tinubu campaign in Osun on Wednesday at Aso Villa.

Davido, who had posted during Osun poll “I can never support APC in my life!!!” and “Anybody supporting APC in Osun is enemy of progress,” said in August interview with News Central:

“Immediately he won, my uncle came out to declare support for Tinubu, but as for me, I am not propelled to support anybody. Right now I don’t have a presidential candidate. It might change, but it’s not going to be APC.”

The old post has now resurfaced, with VDM calling Davido a hypocrite and threatening boycott of his December 17-19 Oriadè residency at National Theatre Lagos.

DACHOMO: DON'T USE MY NAME FOR TINUBU

Rev. Ezekiel Dachomo, has strongly warned those campaigning for President Tinubu not to implicate him as one of Tinubu's supporters.

The cleric rejected claims that his recent trip to Israel turned to a prayer session for the APC to succeed in 2027.

Dachomo clarified that his prayers in Israel were against election rigging, evil spirits and satanic manipulation and not an endorsement of any candidate.
