My name is Augustine Haruna from Kaduna State, Ikara Local Government Area. I am Hausa by tribe.
I want to thank God Almighty for what He has done in my family by transforming and restoring my life back to Him.
I was fully a drunkard, a thief, fornicator and I cooperated with armed robbers to rob people for good ten years to the extent that my parents abandoned me. After my parents abandoned me, the church committee made a decision to pick six of us who were living the same life to one ministry in Kano, the rest ran away and left me alone. I spent about four years in discipleship center but my life was getting worse, I found myself doing the worst I have ever done before.
Then in 2017, they took me to one ministry in Jos where my life was completely transformed. It was in that ministry I discovered I have a call for the ministry, and I finally took the decision to come to the Bible college. But while I was thinking about going to a bible college, I found myself sleeping back into fornication, sleeping with girls on the process of evangelism.
After receiving grace, I thought it is time to go to the bible college, and then I started praying asking God which of the bible college should I attend. After praying I was convinced that Christian Faith Institute is the bible college God wants me to attend so I made the decision at once even when I had no money.
I arrived in CFI and I joined the prayer group and New Life For All and my passion for the gospel grew stronger. One thing that challenged me so much is when I learnt that one man is responsible for the buildings and people living here. I asked myself if one man is taking this responsibility, what are we Christians doing that we cannot do even 1% of what this man (Kent Hodge) is doing?
This thought took over me, and I began to think of what I can do to reciprocate or change someone's life. I decided to join CFM vocation which is even free, I decided to learn tiling. When I was on break, I bought tools and decided to deploy my skills to work. All I wanted was to use this skill to evangelize. Once someone called me to do any work, I will charge very little to the amazement of the person who called me, and I will do the perfect job. When I am asked why I'm doing my own with a low price, it gave me opportunity to preach Jesus Christ.
The little money I made from tiling, I bought a hair clipper so that I can also be cutting people’s hair and be evangelizing. Some times I look for a place and go to cut people's hair, anyone that wants to pay after finishing, I will say no, Jesus has paid for it. All these is just a way of not just preaching the gospel but also contributing to someone’s life as Kent Hodge is doing in CFM.
I want to appreciate Kent Hodge and all the staff for the opportunity given to me. Without money, I have been able to go through a bible college and have something in my hand as tool for evangelism. I use to preach the gospel but had no knowledge of loving one another and also living in peace, but here in CFI, I have learnt this.
Thank God I am completely transformed, I am no longer a fornicator, a thief, a drunkard but an Evangelist to preach Jesus Christ.
