Terminus Main Market: Plateau People Deserve More Than Billboards and Broken Promises

Two decades. That’s how long it has been since the heart of Jos—the iconic Terminus Main Market—was consumed by fire. The tragedy destroyed over 5,000 shops, rendering thousands of traders jobless and dealing a heavy blow to the economic soul of Plateau State. For years, the ruins have stood as a painful reminder of failed promises, political neglect, and the slow decay of one of the region’s most vital commercial hubs.

Now, as 2027 elections approach, the Plateau State Government has unveiled a 3D billboard showing a proposed Terminus Shopping Mall on the same old site. The design is impressive, no doubt. But the timing is suspiciously familiar.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen theatrics at the ruins of Terminus Market. Under the last administration, over ₦1.3 billion was reportedly budgeted for the market’s reconstruction. In the end, a mere ₦162 million was spent—paid to a South African company not to build, but to implode the market’s remaining foundation. That’s where it ended. The market was never rebuilt. Another empty promise, another political deception.

Let’s be honest: Plateau people are tired of being treated as pawns in election-season charades. We will not be fooled by another billboard, no matter how glossy or detailed the 3D rendering looks. What we want is concrete action—and it must start now.

I must point out that I personally had the opportunity to engage Governor Caleb Mutfwang at a youth forum during his campaign. I asked him directly about his plans for rebuilding the Terminus Market and boosting Plateau State’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR). He gave assurances that rebuilding the market was a top priority and promised a strategic approach to improving IGR. His words gave many of us hope.

But hope must now give way to action.

A year into his administration, the people of Plateau are yet to see meaningful work at the site. We are left asking: Was that promise another campaign line, or a commitment backed by vision and resolve?

Let it be clear: we will not be distracted by shiny billboards or cosmetic unveiling ceremonies. Until we see physical groundwork, concrete columns, and construction crews on site, all these gestures remain political optics aimed at influencing public perception ahead of 2027.

To the Caleb Mutfwang administration, we say this respectfully but firmly: Your performance will speak louder than your posters. We are not against rebuilding—we support it wholeheartedly. But we will not celebrate intentions. We will celebrate results.

Let the rebuilding of Terminus Market be a testament to leadership, not a repeat of the broken promises that have haunted Plateau for 20 years. 2027 is around the corner, but so is accountability.

*** Hon. Ahmed Tijjani Nakande express deep sorrow over the death of Maulana Sheikh Salihu, extend heartfelt condolences to Sheikh Harisu Salihu (Kakakin Faira)

The Matawallen Yan Trailer, Hon. Mallam Ahmed Tijjani Nakande, has expressed deep sorrow and extended heartfelt condolences to Sheikh Harisu Salihu Kakkakin Faira, following the passing of his revered father, Maulana Sheikh Salihu, who died on Thursday, 17th July 2025.

In a condolence message released to the press, Mallam Nakande described the loss as one that weighs heavily not only on Sheikh Harisu and his family, but also on the wider Ummah and the followers of the Tijjaniyya Sufi Order. He said Maulana Sheikh Salihu was a man of immense knowledge, spiritual light, and blessings, whose legacy continues to inspire generations.

While praying for the peaceful repose of the late Maulana’s soul, the Matawallen Yan Trailer beseeched Allah (SWT) to forgive his shortcomings and grant him a place among the righteous in Jannatul Firdaus. He further prayed that he be united with the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), Sheikh Ahmad Tijani (RA), Sheikh Ibrahim Niass (RA), and all the saints of the path.

Mallam Nakande also offered words of support and spiritual solidarity to Sheikh Harisu, whom he described as a father figure, mentor, and guide in the path of Tariqah, praying for him to be granted divine strength and steadfastness in this time of grief. # # # #

*When the Table Shook: A Sharp Response to the Political Panic in Bassa/Jos North*

Date: July 2025

Part 2: *TO THE PEOPLE ASKING: "WHO IS tNAKANDE?"*

Here’s the simple answer:

Tijjani Nakande is not their mate. Not by age. Not by mindset. Not by what he has built — alone, with discipline, with vision.
And yes — he comes from a respected political family, but unlike others who hide behind legacies, he’s building his own with integrity. His father, a former Minister, ran against some of these men — now the same men want to run against the son. If that bothers you, check your political relevance — not our bloodline.

*FINAL WORD: THEY’RE SHAKEN BECAUSE THE GROUND IS SHIFTING.*

* They thought Facebook was their territory.
* They thought young minds wouldn’t challenge them.
* They thought throwing insults would scare us.
* They were wrong.
* We are not backing down.
* We are just getting started.

And at the right time — our principal will declare his intent to run.
Until then, let the records speak louder than rants. The people are watching. And in 2027, votes — not volume — will decide.

*THE PEOPLE WILL DECIDE. NOT INSULTS. NOT ANCESTRY. NOT MONEY.*

🎓 COHORT 4 GRADUATES! OUR YOUTHS ARE GOING DIGITAL! 🚀

Today, we celebrate yet another milestone — the graduation of Cohort 4 of our Digital Marketing and Content Creation Training at Unity eHub, proudly sponsored by the tNakande Center! 🇳🇬

This is more than just a certificate — it’s empowerment, direction, and hope for a better future. At a time when many feel abandoned, we are choosing to invest in our youths, helping them unlock opportunities in the ever-evolving digital economy.

📱💻 From Jos North to Bassa and beyond, our mission is clear: Equip young people with relevant, income-generating skills to compete globally while transforming their local communities.

The digital space is the new oil — and we are determined that our youths won’t be left behind.

🔥 Do you or someone you know want to be part of this change?
👉 Registration is open for the next cohort via:
🌐 ehub.unitymedia.com.ng/register

Let’s keep pushing. Let’s keep building. Let’s give our young people the tools, the space, and the support they need to thrive.

A digitally equipped youth is a politically empowered citizen.
We are not just training youths — we are preparing leaders of tomorrow.

*When the Table Shook: A Sharp Response to the Political Panic in Bassa/Jos North*
Date: July 2025

This article was written by the mugani a kasa tNakande 2027 support group. Our principal has remained focused on service, but we will not let disinformation, political gaslighting, or character assassination go unanswered. Let facts — not fear — shape the conversation.
BACKGROUND: WHAT TRIGGERED THE MELTDOWN?
Our political review, “Who Deserves to Lead Bassa/Jos North?” was an open, issue-based look at public figures seeking to represent the constituency in 2027. We examined their track records, credibility, and connection to the people.
What followed?

* Gwani’s team launched personal attacks.
* Wada Kawu’s camp dismissed facts with arrogance.
* Oga Perfect’s team issued a thinly veiled warning.

Clearly, the truth shook the table.
Now we’re responding — not with drama, but evidence and impact.

*Part* 3. Oga Perfect’s Team: Uniform Politics?
Oga Perfect’s media team was… well, unprofessional.

They warned us to “stay away.” From what — asking questions?
So let’s ask again:
Has your principal, a serving security officer, resigned formally from service?

According to Nigeria’s Constitution and Civil Service Rules, active security personnel are strictly prohibited from engaging in partisan politics.

You can’t operate with government guns and still run for office. Choose one.

And let’s not forget:
Where is the funding for all this philanthropy coming from?

The math doesn’t add up — unless there are income streams the public should know about.

This isn’t harassment. It’s transparency. And if it makes you nervous, that says everything.

*When the Table Shook: A Sharp Response to the Political Panic in Bassa/Jos North*
Date: July 2025

This article was written by the mugani a kasa *tNakande 2027* support group. Our principal has remained focused on service, but we will not let disinformation, political gaslighting, or character assassination go unanswered. Let facts — not fear — shape the conversation.

Our political review, *“Who Deserves to Lead Bassa/Jos North?”* was an open, issue-based look at public figures seeking to represent the constituency in 2027.

We examined their track records, credibility, and connection to the people.
What followed?

Wada Kawu’s camp dismissed facts with arrogance.

Clearly, the truth shook the table.

Now we’re responding — not with drama, but evidence and impact.

*Part 2.* Wada Kawu’s Camp: Wealth Doesn’t Equal Worth. We’ve seen the latest post defending Hon. Wada Kawu. It came with passion — but very little substance. Let’s set the record straight, respectfully:
Yes, Wada Kawu is a successful businessman.
Yes, he has given to people. And that’s commendable. But let’s be clear — philanthropy alone does not equal readiness for public office.

Leadership is not about building houses or giving out food. It's about understanding systems, formulating policies, and advocating for sustainable development at the national level. Being generous is good, but that doesn’t automatically make one a leader.

No one denied Wada’s personal gestures.
What we asked is: Where has he been between elections?

Where is the structure, the consistent community engagement, the policy ideas?

Can anyone point to a platform, youth initiative, or civic program tied to his name in the past five years?

A man who truly serves the people does not disappear between election cycles.
Wada’s camp described our principal as someone who “failed woefully.” They mocked him for not having “impact.” Let’s reintroduce them to reality.

*Tijjani Nakande* won his Garba Daho ward 3–2 in the 2022 APC primaries — on his first attempt.

He has never cross-carpeted. He hasn’t disappeared after elections. He has delivered before even contesting.

Meanwhile, Wada is known for:
Disappearing until election season
Bragging about wealth and cars.
Lacking grassroots credibility.

Suddenly reappearing to make promises. Money might buy noise, but it doesn’t buy structure, trust, or vision.

We examined their track records, credibility, and connection to the people.
What followed?
Gwani’s team launched personal attacks.
Wada Kawu’s camp dismissed facts with arrogance.
Oga Perfect’s team issued a thinly veiled warning.
Clearly, the truth shook the table.
Now we’re responding — not with drama, but evidence and impact.

*Part 1:* Hon. Gwani’s Camp: When the Past Won’t Let You Breathe.
Gwani’s camp, led by one Abu Maleek MJ, couldn’t manage a fact-based rebuttal. Instead, they insulted *Tijjani Nakande* , his family, and tried to bury facts under emotional noise.
But let’s set the record straight — with precision.
*Tijjani Nakande* did *NOT* “fail woefully” — he won his Garba Daho ward during the 2022 APC primaries for Jos North-West, with a 3–2 vote margin. He has never cross-carpeted too.

Hon. Gwani’s Election Track Record:
Lost in PDP,
Moved to APC — lost in APC primaries
Jumped to PRP — begged for the ticket, ran in the general election and lost at the polls.
Got into the House via court judgment, not ballot.
Lost again in 2023 (still under PRP)
Went back to court — and lost again.
Returned to APC (again) for 2027.
This isn’t strategy — it’s survival.
They claim he’s “the people’s choice,” yet his only success came from the courtroom, not the ballot box.

Age vs. Capacity: A False Argument.
They keep saying our principal is “a child.” But we ask again:
How old is Gwani, really?
Is he 65? 70? 50? Or just clinging to outdated political relevance?
The reality: *Tijjani Dasuki* is responsibly married, experienced, and established — both in public service and development work. He’s not a boy. He’s just not desperate for recycled power.

Philanthropy or PR Parade?

They say Gwani “doesn’t do philanthropy for clout.” Yet every bag of rice, every wrapper, every school donation hits Facebook before the community. That’s not generosity — that’s campaigning on autopilot. And they quote former Speaker Gbajabiamila’s “praise” — one sentence. But what about the lack of any traceable project, motion, or bill during his 6–7 month stay in the National Assembly?
Empty praise. Empty chair.

And yes — if you’re wondering, he ( *tnakande* ) uses AI tools to communicate clearly and professionally. Because the future belongs to those who are prepared — not those who fear progress.
