Plateau Records Drop in Malaria Prevalence, Launches New Prevention Campaign

The Plateau State Government has officially flagged off the 2026 Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention (SMC) campaign as part of efforts to protect children from malaria and further reduce the disease burden across the state.

The flag-off ceremony, held at the Crispan Event Center in Jos, brought together government officials, health practitioners, development partners, and other stakeholders committed to improving child health and malaria prevention.

The campaign is aimed at providing life-saving preventive malaria medication to eligible children during the peak malaria transmission season.

JUST IN: INEC has removed the names of Ahmed Yayari and Daniel Woyengikuro from its portal as PDP National Treasurer and National Financial Secretary, respectively, replacing both names with Odeyemi Mackson Oladiran and Eyim Donatus Henry as the new executives.

Ahmed and Daniel are part of the Makinde-backed Turaki faction while Odeyemi and Eyim are members of the FCT Minister Nyesom Wike's faction, which is also the recognised faction of the PDP.

INEC had earlier recognised the FCT Minister's faction by putting the names of Abdulrahman Mohammed as the National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as the National Secretary, but had left the names of Ahmed Yayari and Daniel as part of the executives, a situation which created confusion.

With the recent update on its portal, all executives of the PDP on INEC's portal are now aligned with FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.

Senator Diket Plang Delivers 18-Seater Buses to Health Institutions in Push*t and Pankshin

It was a moment of joy and celebration as the Senator representing Plateau Central, Senator Diket Plang, today visited the Mwaghavul College of Health Technology, Push*t, and the Plateau State College of Health Technology, Pankshin, where he donated a 2018 Toyota 18-seater bus to each institution.

Naanlong’s Victory in Three Districts Reflects People’s Will — Concerned Mikang APC Youths Reaffirm Support

A group under the aegis of Concerned Mikang APC Youths at Home and in the Diaspora has reaffirmed its support for the outcome of the recently concluded APC primary election in Mikang Constituency, declaring Rt. Hon. Daniel Naanlong as the people’s choice following his victory in three out of the four districts in the constituency.

In a statement signed by the group, the youths described the result of the primary election as a clear indication of the overwhelming grassroots support enjoyed by Rt. Hon. Naanlong among APC members and supporters across Mikang.
