Empowering educators always brings a unique kind of energy!

​I’m currently in Enugu for Day 2 of an intensive 3-day workshop, working alongside mentors, innovators, teachers, and librarians. We are diving deep into digital literacy, enrollment, platform navigation, course completion, and integrating PhET interactive simulations on the Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP).

​Seeing the passion of these educators to transform their classrooms is incredibly fulfilling.

​A huge thank you to the UNICEF Enugu Field Office for the continuous drive to elevate our educational ecosystem, and to the Enugu State Government for its visionary investment in over 260 smart schools across the state.

​Special appreciation goes to my national coordinator, Dr. Harold Kpojime, PhD, for the trust and leadership in executing this assignment. And to my incredible team members—Dr. Chika, Timi, and Franca—it’s always a pleasure delivering impact together!

As primary (basic )and secondary (post-basic) schools across Nigeria prepare to reopen for a new academic session this September, successful transition goes beyond purchasing books and paying school fees. Academic momentum is built at home through intentional preparation, emotional support, and structured environments.
​Strategic Action Points for Parents and Guardians
​Re-establish Academic Routines Early: Begin shifting sleep, wake, and screen-time schedules at least one week before resumption to prevent physical fatigue and mental burnout during the first few weeks of school.
​Audit and Align Learning Materials: Focus on fundamental tools first—standard textbooks, core writing materials, and uniform requirements. Early preparation removes first-week anxiety and ensures students engage with learning from Day 1.
​Integrate Foundational Digital Literacy: Ensure older students (Basic 7/JSS1 upwards) have structured access to verified educational platforms, subject-specific digital tools, and self-paced study apps to complement traditional classroom instruction.
​Review Core Academic Foundations: Engage children in light, daily revision of core subjects (English, Mathematics, and Basic Science). Target weak areas identified in previous term reports rather than overwhelming them with new syllabus topics.
​Establish Active School Communication Lines: Re-engage with school management, class teachers, and Parent-Teacher Associations (PTA) to understand updated academic calendars, assessment policies, and safety protocols before classes begin.
​Intentional parental involvement and clear structure at home build the confidence children need to excel in the upcoming session.

Leveling Up for the Future of Education in Yobe!
I am incredibly proud to wrap up an intensive 4-day Training of Trainers (ToT) with the Yobe NLP Technical Team at the Maiduguri Field Office!
This journey was about more than just technology; it was about personal and professional transformation. Over the course of the week, I had the privilege to learn, unlearn, and relearn alongside 20 dedicated colleagues and partners.
Why this matters:
Personal Growth: Pushing my own boundaries in Digital Literacy and Generative AI to stay ahead in a rapidly changing world.
Professional Impact: Strengthening my ability to lead and mentor others in the digital space.
Global Value: By mastering the Nigeria Learning Passport and modern teaching strategies, we are adding real value to the education ecosystem—ensuring no child in Yobe State is left behind in the digital age.
From exploring the wonders of Artificial Intelligence to perfecting Blended Learning strategies, the energy was unmatched! A special shout-out to the CSOs who joined us; your grassroots insights were invaluable.
We aren't just finishing a training; we are starting a movement. By April, we’ll be taking these skills directly to our teachers on the ground.
Thank you to my bosses Dr Harold,Oga Bala,Mrs Tina, for your leadership, and every participant who made these four days an "adventure" in knowledge. Onward and upward!
