The Evil that men do
I have always tried to understand why some Nigerian men run foul of the law outside Nigeria ,especially as it relates to relationships or dealings with my gender.
In this country, men have normalized some behaviours and they think they are ok and acceptable everywhere. So when they move abroad,they take along their "Garlic and Cucumber" ,if you catch my drift. They simply continue doing what they were doing here, vvforgetting that the environment and culture are different.
They continue to beat and assault their wives, disrespect boundaries, lure little under aged girls and simply assume that because they have exchanged pleasantries with a girl and even offered her a drink, they can touch her or make indecent conversation. Toh, body go tell una.
W have had too many cases of our celebritues who crossed the line, forgetting that it's a whole different environment. There was the case of African Chyna, ( who later sang 'London fever'. How I love that song) , Goldie 1 ( Olawale Hassan) , Timaya, and recently, Poco Lee, just to mention but a few.
Not to mention ordinary every day people wey hand don touch. The stats are high.
Beyond their actions or what they were accused of, is a deep rooted concern of some men not respecting boundaries. Many of them still believe that a woman's NO is a YES,, or they simply just assume.😔
As Nigerian women, we encounter such regularly. Even on social media, some young boy sees your post and runs to your DM to write, " Good morning my Queen"😳😳😳How? I fit born you o.
Or another writes " My love,how was your night"? Do you know me? That is where the disrespect starts from. And when you ask them why they're doing that, some will lamely say "Are you not on social media to interact and make friends? It does not mean anything. I address every woman like I would my wife." What nerve? Am I your wife? It means you simply do not respect your wife.
Imagine this type of attitude, and then such people find themselves outside the country.🤣🤣 Wahaluur.
I believe some men need to do better, because if you are not used to luring underaged girls into your house and assaulting them, you won't go .grooming a 14year old girl in the abroad. You are just a pa******le!
Leave your bad character here and take time to study your new environment ,before you are sent back before you know what bus to take home.🤣🤣🤣
And let me put it out here, I am on social media to learn and contribute to meaning discourse, make valuable friends, ventilate and market my skills. Peradventure I make some money out of it, Glory to God. But If your own is jumping from DM to DM sending "Hi my Love" , "Goodmorning Beautiful" , and many such things, mind yasef and learn to respect boundaries.
Wisdom is profitable to direct, because not everything is CRUISE.
