President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of armed forest guards (effectively the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service, NFSS) and directed that they be well-trained and equipped with fi****ms to combat terrorists and criminals operating in Nigeria's forests. 🇳🇬
💯 DETAILS OF THE INITIATIVE 💯
(1).NFSS ROLE: The NFSS (sometimes referred to as the Nigerian Hunters and Forest Security Service, NHFSS) is intended to provide local security and information gathering within forests, leveraging the terrain knowledge of local hunters to support the police and military.
(2).ARMING NFSS: The Commander General of the NFSS, Wole Joshua Osatimehin, had previously urged the government to allow its officers to carry guns to effectively discharge their duties. The recent directive from the President mandates that the guards be armed and trained to act as an "elite strike force" against criminal gangs 🇳🇬💯💯
(3).PROCUREMENT DETAILS: While the specific types of "good weapons" for the NFSS haven't been publicly itemized in detail, there have been internal discussions and suggestions regarding suitable fi****ms for forest operations, such as the reliability and pe*******on power of the AK-47 in dense foliage. 🇳💯
