This for me is one of the many things keeping many creatives broke, either consistently or seasonally. And after careful meditation, I decided to make a post about it.
If you're a creative, you'll agree with me that there are some days where you get to work consistently, and in such seasons, money keeps coming in, alert after alert, and life seems amazing.
But on the other hand, you may discover all of a sudden that the money either finishes or you cannot account for it.
Here's the honest truth you may likely not hear from anywhere: most people will teach you the skill, probably how to monetize your skill, which is very good, and that is why you paid for the course, masterclass, or whatever.
But when the money starts coming in, it is now your sole responsibility to save that money, and also find a means to make that money work for you.
What do I mean?
Any money you have today can finish, except you find a means to make it multiply, and my call to you today is: while it is good to learn a skill and monetize it, look for ways to multiply your money.
It could be via buying stocks, bonds, treasury bills, grains, etc.
Whichever means, just make sure you don't eat up everything you have coming in.
While typing this I remember the dream of Pharaoh about the 7 years of plenty and 7 years of lack. We're not wishing anybody evil, but as long as we're on the face of this earth, it is wise to prepare.
You know it is better to prepare for battle BEFORE battle, than prepare DURING battle. Read that line again!
For some people reading this, you know what I am talking about.
I am not a financial adviser, but I have seen people who were once "very rich" turn into a thing of pity.
You may also want to learn what delayed gratification means.
Note: before you make any in_vestments, make sure you study and know fully well what you are committing your money to.
And secondly, no amount is too small to start saving and investing. What you should cultivate is the habit first, then as the money keeps coming, you keep saving and in_vesting.
As I said earlier, not many people will tell you this, but I am saying this out of love and I want us all to grow.
Study the life of wealthy people. I know someday you'll be glad you heeded these words of mine.
