I visited a friend last week and usually when women live alone, they hardly cook (this is debatable though, it could just be exclusive to the people I know, me inclusive cos itās once in a blue moon we cook and stock up and when the food finishes, it takes a long while to cook and restock again), so āindomieā is always to the rescue.
We had gisted and hunger was beginning to set in and the deliberation about what we will eat started.
āIndomie and eggs?ā
āWe go fry the eggs or we go cook am?ā
āWho go cook?ā
āWe go put carrots and green beans?ā
āAhbeg no energy to dice carrots and green beans, make we cook am like thatā.
All this conversation ensued while we were still lying down and pressing phone.
One hour later we were still in the same position screaming softly that we are really hungry o! āAhbi we should eat out?ā
āWhere we wan go now? Mek we just chop indomieā
30 minutes later, hanty jumped up, picked up a tshirt and was trying to pull it over her head.
Me: you want tp go and buy the indomie? How many go do us? Me Iām very hungry and would eat one super pack o!
She: mtcheeewww.
She left and returned with a big black leather and headed straight to the kitchen.
Me: Wetin you buy like this? (Going after her) no be indomie we say we go chop?
Checking what she bought, I saw 3 hungry man sized indomie.
Ahh ahhhn, āother people go follow us chop ahbi why you buy plenty indomie like this?ā Seeing that her biggest pot was already filled with water and mounted on the burner.
āCryztalz ahbeg no Dey disturb me, I no get energy for your too many questions ahbeg, na we go chop am. Normally I Dey chop two hungry man, one super pack and four eggs at a go, but since I know say you no too dey chop I assume three hungry man and 6 eggs go do us ba? Na why I big and you small be that, learn to Dey chop like a living thing.ā
I couldnāt talk again o! Na the shade wey she don shade me ahbi na the reality wey I Dey face I go answer?
But is it normal for a human being to eat like that? No be sickness be this like this?
I was now wondering, sheybi if dem cook plenty indomie like this e go sweet? E no go water water?
How we go dish plenty food like this sit down chop without remorse?
Na so indomie done, we chop o. E sweet sha cos normally she Dey cook wella, na wife material but the husband must ready to buy food, na her weakness be that, Food.
