Do not let anyone talk down on your field of expertise.
We cannot all be Full Stack Developers, Programmers or Ethical Hackers.
If you are a WordPress Web Designer, be proud of what you do. Do not allow anyone look or talk down on you or make you feel inferior.
How many Nigerians can afford the service of a Full Stack Developer anyway?
In construction, there are Architects, Project Managers, Civil Engineers, Structural Engineers, etc...and there are the bricklayers (masons), labourers, etc.
If everyone were to be Architects, who will lay the bricks? Who will work with the one laying the bricks?
In Dubai, the Burj Al Arab project (which is the Dubai icon) was handled by a team led by Architect Tom Wright.
When it was time for electrical works, he hired an electrical engineer. When it was time to test for wind, he hired a wind engineer. Time for interior decorations, he hired an interior decorator.
He worked with several hundreds of workers and masons on the site.
Why didn't Tom Wright handle all these himself? Does this mean that masons are also very important people and their place cannot be overlooked?
Now, in Nigeria, there are bricklayers who handle building constructions and make a lot of money.
Not everyone has the financial capacity to hire a civil engineer or architect for his building project.
Such people seek bricklayers who can handle building construction to manage their project.
This is common in rural communities and I have seen buildings handled by bricklayers that are more than 10 to 15 years old.
Infact, in such communities, you hardly find buildings handled by an architect.
The bricklayer definitely charges far less and gets the job done.
There are limits for sure but what most people want is just basic building construction that a bricklayer can handle.
Those who want something more professional, modern or advanced can hire architects/civil engineers.
