Indeed, truth is truth. It remains the truth simply because it is the truth not because of the people who follow it.
Therefore, in Islam, upon the path of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and the righteous predecessors, we stand with a person only when he is upon the truth and in accordance with it.
But if he goes against the truth, then no matter who he is, we are not with him.
Example:
Pork is HARAM in Islam. Nothing can ever make it lawful from any angle. Even if an Imam slaughters it and mentions the name of Allah over it, that does not make pork halal.
So, anyone who strives to follow the teachings of the Messenger of Mercy (peace be upon him) must know that if any scholar deviates from the teachings of the Prophet, then it becomes obligatory to leave aside that scholar’s opinion completely, without any addition, and without feeling shy in front of someone who himself does not feel shy before Allah and His Messenger.
May Allah, the Exalted King, support and guide us.
