The Beauty of Teaching English Language in School

There is a quiet magic in the English language classroom—a space where words become wings, and sentences bloom like flowers in spring. Teaching English is not merely about grammar rules or vocabulary lists; it is about shaping thought, nurturing expression, and opening the gates to worlds far beyond the walls of the classroom.

To teach English is to hand students the key to communication—a gift that empowers them to understand others and be understood. Through stories, they explore distant lands and live a thousand lives. Through essays, they learn to articulate their dreams, fears, and beliefs. Through poetry, they find music in words and rhythm in thought.

The English language is a bridge across cultures and generations. It connects the past with the present, and the local with the global. As a teacher, one watches with joy as students begin to read not just for answers, but for meaning; to write not just for grades, but for discovery. Every lesson becomes a step in their journey toward confidence, creativity, and connection.

In the English classroom, silence is filled with thought, and every question is a door to curiosity. It is a place where voices find strength and shy smiles turn into speeches. It is here that the seeds of empathy are planted—when students read about lives unlike their own and come to understand the shared humanity beneath the differences.

Teaching English is a calling that echoes with purpose. It is the art of igniting minds and awakening hearts. And in every well-placed word, every inspired paragraph, every courageous presentation, lies the timeless beauty of the teacher’s craft.

ā€œGetting Ready for Tomorrow: A Mother’s Guide to Stress-Free School Resumptionā€

1. Sort out uniforms and shoes:
Wash, iron, and set out school uniforms, socks, and polish shoes.

2. Check school bags:
Arrange books, pens, homework, and any needed supplies inside their bags.

3. Prepare lunch items:
Plan and (if possible) pre-pack snacks, lunch, and water bottles.

4. Set up sleep schedules:
Ensure the children go to bed early to wake up refreshed.

5. Confirm transportation:
Arrange school runs — whether it’s a bus, carpool, or personal drop-off.

6. Handle any outstanding school fees or documents:
Get any payments, forms, or notes ready for submission.

7. Encourage a positive mindset:
Talk to the children about the new school term positively to boost their morale.

8. Double-check school schedules:
Confirm resumption time and any special instructions from the school.

9. Organize uniforms for the week (if possible):
To avoid morning rush during the week.

10. Say a prayer together:
Commit the term into God's hands if you are spiritually inclined.

When your partner doesn't trust you, it can feel frustrating and hurtful, especially if you haven’t done anything to deserve that mistrust. Here are some steps you can take to handle the situation:

1. HAVE AN HONEST CONVERSATION
Talk openly with your partner about how their lack of trust affects you. Ask them to share why they feel the way they do, and listen without interrupting or getting defensive.

2. REASSURE WITH ACTION, NOT JUST WORDS
Consistency in your behavior builds trust. Be reliable, transparent, and patient—even if it feels unfair. Trust takes time to build, especially if your partner has past trauma or insecurities.

3. SET BOUNDARIES AROUND MISTRUST
It’s important to let your partner know that while you're willing to build trust, constant suspicion or accusations aren’t healthy or sustainable.

4. CHECK YOUR OWN BEHAVIOR
Reflect on whether there's anything (even unintentionally) that could be making your partner feel uneasy—like being secretive with your phone or vague about your whereabouts.

5. ENCOURAGE PROFESSIONAL HELP IF NEEDED
If the mistrust seems deep-rooted or irrational, it might be tied to past experiences. Suggest counseling—either together or individually—to help unpack those feelings.

6. KNOW WHEN TO LET GO
If you’ve tried everything and the mistrust continues to poison the relationship, you may need to evaluate whether the relationship is healthy for both of you.

"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." - Benjamin Franklin

This quote perfectly captures what I’ve come to understand about how real learning happens. It’s not just about information delivery - it’s about engagement, experience, and ownership.

In my classroom, I’ve noticed that the moments students remember most aren’t from lectures or notes. They’re from the hands-on activities, the group discussions, the experiments, and the debates where they had to think, act, and reflect.

When students are involved - really involved - they develop a deeper connection with the subject. Learning becomes something they do with you, not something done to them.

That’s why I try to create opportunities where they can explore, question, and even teach one another. The growth is incredible.

So I’m curious: What does meaningful learning look like to you? And if you’re a teacher, how do you ā€œinvolveā€ your learners? Let’s learn from each other.

This afternoon, as the golden fingers of sunlight filtered lazily through the curtains, I surrendered to the lull of a quiet nap. The world outside faded, and sleep, soft as silk, wrapped around me. But serenity was short-lived. A sudden, sharp sting—like the kiss of a needle—pierced the calm on my arm. My eyes snapped open, the dreamscape shattered like glass. There it was, a tiny ant, dark as a shadow and daring as a thief, scuttling boldly across my skin as though it owned the world.

Instinct surged faster than thought. I clenched my fingers and pressed down, feeling the crunch beneath my skin—a minute warrior felled in the blink of an eye. Yet, as I lifted my hand, I saw it still wriggling, defiant, determined, dragging itself away as though mocking my attempt at vengeance.

The bite burned like a smoldering ember, a silent reminder that even the smallest creature can command attention. Nature had whispered through that tiny assault, reminding me that peace is often fragile, and the tiniest stir can rattle the calmest soul. I lay back, no longer drowsy, marveling at how a speck of life could leave such a lasting impression.

A CROWN OF CRACKS

The stones I’ve held, they weigh me down,
A private, silent, fractured crown.
The cracks within, they catch the light,
And show me where I've strayed from right.

Who am I, then, to cast a glance,
A judging eye, a fleeting chance,
To measure souls with rigid line,
When mine itself, is not divine?

The whispers rise, the shadows creep,
The secrets that I closely keep.
They teach me grace, a gentle hand,
To understand, and understand.

For every fault I see in you,
A mirror shows my own flaws too.
And in that truth, a quiet peace,
A silent, knowing, sweet release.

So let us walk, with open eyes,
Beneath these ever-changing skies.
No judgment cast, no harsh decree,
Just empathy, for you and me.

FROM FACE TO PERSONALITY: What's fair?

Being beautiful may have its many advantages, but it can lead people to draw unfortunate connections not only to personality but also to morality... Because it's a short train ride from vanity to other undesirable features of narcissism. Your conclusion that an attractive person is vain may lead to misconceptions about their other attributes; they may not have that so-called immoral vice after all.

By giving people the chance to ''earn'' their personality instead of placing it upon them due to their outward appearance, you can approach each individual you meet with a more open mind. It's hard to discount the way someone appears, but by looking past their superficial physical qualities and allowing their true personality to emerge over time, you can open your mind to a more honest and fulfilling relationship.
