BREAKING: 6,885 WARD DELEGATES, 621 LG EXECUTIVES EMERGE AS KADUNA APC CONCLUDES CONGRESSES

In a sweeping internal exercise that produced 6,885 Ward delegates, 621 Local Government executives, 1,275 LG delegates, 1,275 State delegates, and 69 National delegates, the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State has concluded its Local Government and Ward Congresses across all 255 wards in the 23 Local Government Areas of the state.

The reports of the Congress, Screening, and Appeal Committees were formally presented to Governor Uba Sani at the historic Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Saturday, marking the culmination of a statewide process party leaders described as orderly, consensus-driven, and constitutionally compliant.

According to the committee chairmen, Hon. Ibrahim Hafiz Kawu and Senator Binta Garba Masi, the congresses were conducted strictly in line with party guidelines, with consensus arrangements adopted across the wards — a development party stakeholders hailed as a demonstration of political maturity and institutional discipline.

The sheer scale of the exercise — covering every ward and local government structure in the state — underscores what party officials called a consolidation of democratic order within the APC, setting the stage for the next phase of political mobilisation in Kaduna.

MASS DEFECTION TO APC: GROUP HAILS UBA SANI FOR NEW MEMBERSHIP DRIVE
...Cautions against sabotage

The APC Solidarity Group has hailed Governor Uba Sani for what it described as a growing and inclusive membership drive, following the defection of new members to the party in Unguwan Dosa. They also cautioned against " the sabotage" of the mass defection to APC by vested interests in Anguwan Dosa, working on the scripts of a lawmaker

In a statement on Wednesday, the group’s Chairman, Comrade Haruna Janwiya, said the development reflected rising confidence in the APC-led administration, dismissing attempts by a ward chairman to question the legitimacy of the decampment.

Janwiya stressed that decampment is a constitutional right of citizens, not a procedure that depends on the personal approval of any single party official.

> “There is no provision in the APC constitution that invalidates a decampment simply because a ward chairman did not personally officiate it. Decamping is a political decision taken by citizens, not a ceremonial ritual controlled by one office holder,” he said.

He noted that the decampees were received at Unguwan Dosa by senior APC stakeholders, led by the Governor’s Political Adviser—the most senior official at the event—alongside Permanent Secretaries and Special Advisers to the Governor, a presence he said confers full political legitimacy on the exercise.

According to Janwiya, ward chairmen play important coordinating roles but do not possess veto powers over party membership, warning that gatekeeping sends the wrong signal at a time the APC is expanding its grassroots base.

He described the defections as part of the inclusive political culture being promoted by Governor Uba Sani, anchored on reconciliation, openness, and party growth.

The APC Solidarity Group called for the immediate integration of the new members at the ward level, stressing that party unity and expansion must take precedence over ego or protocol disputes.
