Not all believers, however are profitable . Some are not aware that anything is happening. Some only watch things happen. Only few make things happen. Worse still, you have some that are scattering when others are building. Their past time is sowing seeds of discord among the brethren and causing confusion in the church.

Building profitable relationships require a lot of discernment. There are people we must pray out of our lives. There are some we need to love from distance. And there are some relationships we must pursue after regardless of what it will cost us initially. I am better off today because my path crossed with that of some people. I have had the opportunity of ministering on some global platforms and I am aware it wasn't just my gift that made room for me. It was the power of right relationships. I am forever grateful to those who stepped aside in other for me to step up - those who gave me the exposure I didn't think I deserved. I believe that is the story of most of us, especially those in the work of the ministry. Some deluded people call themselves 'self-made'. But none of us is. We are all the product of the help we received from people, at one point or the other, in our lives. Your value to others is directly related to the problems you solve in their lives.

A profitable church worker is one that believes in the vision of his local assembly. Beyond just believing in the vision, he buys into it; he owns it. He does not speak of his local assembly as 'that church', but as 'our church'. He does not speak of the vision as, ' their vision' or 'their project', but as 'our vision, our project'. He is aware that his participation is crucial to the overall fulfillment of the vision and he takes his responsibility with all seriousness. He 'trades' with his talents by serving in the area of his gifting. God's work does not die or diminish under his watch. He is aware of the fact that what you don't use, you lose.
