STAY ON ALERT⚠️
Fresh Killings In Kaduna: Concerned Citizen Calls On Governor Uba Sani To Take Responsibility
A concerned citizen, Edward John Auta Pama, has called on Governor Uba Sani to take urgent responsibility for the worsening security situation in Kaduna State following renewed attacks that claimed several lives over the weekend.
In a statement made available on Monday, Pama lamented that seven people were gruesomely murdered on August 24 at Ung. Kamaru, Chawai Chiefdom, Kauru Local Government Area (LGA), while many others remain hospitalized with injuries.
Similar attacks were also reported in Birnin Gwari and Kachia LGAs, where three and four persons were allegedly killed, respectively.
Pama criticized what he described as government propaganda in the handling of security issues, warning that underreporting violent incidents does not equate to progress.
"Your Excellency, there is an urgent need for the government to stop the propaganda and become more transparent, responsive, and responsible in the security management of the state," Pama wrote.
He also raised concerns over alleged negotiations with bandits and insurgents, stating that if such talks are ongoing, they must be extended to cover Southern Kaduna communities which continue to suffer frequent attacks.
"In Kauru, Kaura, Kachia, Sanga, and sometimes Zangon Kataf LGAs, citizens are either killed, maimed, or kidnapped, while thousands continue to be rendered homeless, and this is increasingly becoming worrisome," he noted.
The statement concluded with prayers for the repose of those killed and the recovery of victims receiving treatment.
