Fanatism has no place in modern society.

This is part of the reason why we advocate against radical or hate preachings. Don't call other groups names or insult them because of political or other differences. Preach peace or don't preach at all. Today, Pantami is contesting under the platform he once called infidel. What an irony and a twist of fate.

I just read that Isa Ali Pantami, the previously intense, PDP-phobic Sheikh who invoked a famous malediction against the party and equated it with an assembly of unbelievers is now running for governor of Gombe on its platform. Ha!

Around 2014 or thereabouts, the Sheikh said, اللهم عليك بـ PDP وسائر الجمعيات الكافرة

Transliteration: Allāhumma ʿalayka bi-PDP wa sāʾir al-jamʿiyyāt al-kāfirah.

Idiomatic translation: “O Allah, punish or destroy the PDP and all the other parties of infidels."

So what happened? Has the Sheikh become an infidel or it is the PDP that has stopped being a party of infidels?

Well, since PDP has two factions, it's probably the Wike faction, which is, for all practical purposes, an extension of APC, that the Sheikh is a new member of.

If that is the case, we need to cut him some slack. The Wike faction of PDP, to the extent that it's an extension of APC, may be exempt from being part of al-jamʿiyyāt al-kāfirah (i.e., party of infidels).

Sheikh Pantami will probably switch to APC if he wins the election next year. That was what the guy who won a chairmanship election in the FCT on Wike's PDP platform did.

But, seriously, there is no limit to the absurdity Nigerian politics can throw up. Good luck to the Sheikh.

BREAKING: Fubara withdraws from Rivers APC governorship primary

Siminalayi Fubara, governor of Rivers, has withdrawn from the governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.

Fubara announced his withdrawal from the contest in a statement he personally issued on Wednesday, noting that he stepped down out of conviction and sacrifice for the state to move forward in peace and unity.

I must not fail to comment on the flagrant diobedience to the orders of injunction of the lower Courts by the Appellants in this uppeal When purties submit thernselves to the authority of the Courts, they are bound to obey the onders or injunctiams that ordinarily flow fhom the Courts, whether such orders are in their favour or against thern Some Political Parties in this Country have consistently made a Mockery ar Caricature of orders of Courts which do not go in their favour.

They did not stop there, they shamelessly, brazenly, and desperately embarked on forum shopping. The Party Canvention of the 1st Appellant (PDP) in this Appeal which held on the 15 and 16 of November 2025 is a typical example.

Not only did they flagrantly disobey the onders of the Federal High Court in Suit Number FHC/ABJ/CS2120/2025 by Omotosho, they proceeded to taunt the Court by going to a High Court in Oyo State which is clearly a Court of Cordinate
jurindiction to get a Counter order in their favour.

This is nothing but MADNESS, GROSS IRESPONSBILITY (emphasis mine), quite contemptaous and clearly making a Mockery of a very serious business. I condemn it in very strong terms.

****The said Convention which is a product of this MADNESS and IRESPONSIBILITY is accordingly declared null and void and of no effect whatsoever. All the decisions arrived at by this full-blown Madness are also set aside.****

I also condemn the unethical conduct of some Judges who make their Courts available for forum shopping not due to poor knowledge of the law, but deliberate mischief, thereby diminishing the Majesty of the Courts and the entire Judiciary. They are simply playing with fire with all the attendant cosequences.

It is trite that a party in contempt of the order of any Court whatsoever has no reason or justification to seek audience before another Court and no Court sh
