Caleb Danladi Foundation Trains 105 Teachers in Digital Literacy in Kaduna
The Caleb Danladi Foundation (CDF) has trained 105 primary school teachers in Digital Literacy and Modern Teaching Methodologies in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State as part of efforts to improve the quality of basic education.
The five-day training, held between May 25 and 29 at the Computer Centre of Anglican Grammar School, Kwoi, equipped participants with digital skills and innovative teaching techniques aimed at enhancing classroom delivery and improving learning outcomes.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Founder of the Foundation, Capt. Caleb Danladi, PhD, said the programme was designed to prepare teachers for the demands of a rapidly evolving digital world. He stressed that digital literacy has become essential for effective teaching and learning in the 21st century.
Danladi noted that the Foundation plans to train 1,000 teachers in digital literacy and modern teaching methods before the end of 2026, adding that the 105 beneficiaries in Jaba represent the first phase of the initiative.
He described teachers as the backbone of every successful education system and emphasized the need for continuous professional development to equip them with the skills required to prepare learners for future opportunities and challenges.
Also speaking, a guest at the occasion, Mrs. Hadiza Yem urged participants to embrace lifelong learning and continuously improve their professional capacities in order to positively impact their pupils.
Community leaders, including the traditional rulers of Samban Gida, commended the Foundation for bringing the training to the area, describing the initiative as timely and beneficial to educational development in the community.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. David Tuk and Miss Christiana Tukura, while the lead facilitator, Mr. Jonathan Sunday Dauda, conducted practical sessions on computer applications, internet usage, educational technology, digital communication tools, and learner-centred teaching methodologies.
Participants in separate interviews, described the training as impactful and relevant, noting that it improved their confidence in the use of technology and modern instructional methods.
They expressed optimism that the knowledge acquired would enhance teaching practices and contribute to better learning outcomes in schools across Jaba Local Government Area.
