CP IBRAHIM ADAMU BAKORI, PhD RECEIVES COURTESY VISITS FROM CCB STATE DIRECTOR, CHAIRMAN OF MU HADU MU GYARA, MANAGEMENT OF BOMPAI PCS

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis received courtesy visits from the State Director, Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB), Hajiya Hadiza Larai Ibrahim, Chairman of Mu Hadu Mu Gyara, Alhaji Sunusi Balarabe and Management of Bompai Police Children School led by the Head Teacher, Mallam Hassan Abu Sadiq.

The visit, which took place today, Tuesday, 22nd July 2025 aimed at fostering a cordial working relationship and exploring ways to enhance collaboration between the Police Command and the visiting Stakeholders.

During her visit, Hajiya Hadiza Larai Ibrahim stated that the visit aimed at exploring avenues for solidifying the synergy between the CCB and the Police Command in promoting accountability and transparency in governance. Discussions centered on joint efforts to combat corruption and ensure adherence to the code of conduct for public officers.

In his remark, Alh Sunusi Balarabe commended the Commissioner of Police for his efforts in crime fighting, stressed that they have seen so many reforms, especially in community-police relations, in enhancing security. The Chairman also seeks more collaborative efforts to address security challenges and promote peaceful coexistence in Kano State.

The Head Teacher, Mallam Hassan Abu Sadiq, stated that they are at the Command's Headquarters to welcome the Commissioner of Police and also strengthen the ties between the Police Command and the School, as it belongs to the Command. The Head Teacher discussed ways to enhance the welfare and education of Police children. He finally commended the CP for doing a great job in Kano State.

The Commissioner of Police warmly received the visitors and appreciated their interest in strengthening partnership with the Police Command. The CP assured that the Command remains dedicated to building strong relationships with stakeholders and promoting community-oriented policing, which is in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM.

KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND ARRESTS A SERIAL MOBILE PHONES THIEF; CAUTIONS THE PUBLIC ABOUT HIS MODUS OPERANDI

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a serial deceiver who has been exploiting innocent individuals to unlawfully obtain their mobile phones, under false pretenses. The 27-year-old male suspect, identified as Mohammed Usman, of Kofar Wambai Quarters, Kano, was arrested on 14th July, 2025, following a complaint from one female resident of Ahmadiyya Brigade Quarters, Kano.

2. The complainant reported that she received a phone call from an unknown number, offering her supposed government intervention assistance. Trusting the caller, she accepted the offer and subsequently met with the suspect who deceitfully made away with her mobile phone.

3. As the investigation unfolded, seventeen (17) additional female victims emerged, all reporting similar experiences of deception and theft, showing a pattern of fraudulent activity that primarily targeted unsuspecting women.

4. The suspect, an ex-convict, was arrested for a similar offence two years ago and sentenced to two years in correctional custody without an option of fine. He is currently detained at the Command's Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and a discreet investigation conducted led to the arrest of additional three suspected receivers and the recovery of eight (08) mobile phones. The suspects are helping in the investigation.

5. The State Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD thanked members of the public for their cooperation and urged everyone to be wary of such offers, especially from an unknown source. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis, paid a courtesy visit to the Honourable Chief Judge, Chairman, Judicial Service Commission, High Court of Justice, Kano State, Hon. Justice Dije Abdu Aboki, on 17th July, 2025.

2. The visit was a significant step towards fostering a cordial relationship between the Police and the Judiciary, with the aim of enhancing security and ensuring the protection of lives and property in Kano State.

3. During the visit, the Commissioner of Police expressed his profound gratitude to the Judiciary for their support and cooperation, which has been instrumental in the Command's efforts to maintain peace and security in the State. He emphasized the importance of continued synergy between the Police and the Judiciary, stressing that the fight against crime and insecurity requires a collective effort. The CP noted that the Police alone cannot achieve the desired level of security without the support of the Judiciary and the general public, and therefore, sought more cooperation and collaboration in maintaining law and order, and promoting justice and fairness in the State.

4. In response, the Honourable Chief Judge appreciated the efforts of the Police Command in maintaining peace and security in the State and assured of the Judiciary's continued support and cooperation. Her Lordship further highlighted the importance of sustaining the synergy, noting that the numerous innovations in the judicial system would greatly benefit from continued collaboration, which would go a long way in enhancing security and justice delivery in the State.

5. The Chief Judge also emphasized that it is the duty of every person to help the Police do their work to see that crimes are stamped out, controlled, and contained.

6. The visit was interactive and grey areas were discussed for efficient service delivery. Parts of the discussions is that some special courts were set aside for the prosecution of cases related to mobile phone robbery and theft that have been affecting the State Metropolis. The visit concluded with commitment from both parties towards working together in ensuring peace and stability in the State.

KANO POLICE COMMAND CONCLUDES ONE-MONTH TRAINING ON CDR, IMSI CATCHER, AI IN INTELLIGENCE GATHERING AND CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION FOR SID PERSONNEL

The Kano State Police Command in collaboration with Autopsies Forensic Consult LTD, Forensic Investigators' Society of Nigeria and Pen Test Cyber Security Institute LTD has concluded a one-month training program for personnel of the Command's State Intelligence Department (SID), on the application of Call Detail Record (CDR), International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) Catcher, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in intelligence gathering and criminal investigation.

2. The training, which was held at the Police Officers' Mess, Bompai-Kano, from 16th June to 16th July 2025, was aimed at enhancing the capacity of the personnel in intelligence gathering and criminal investigation. The program is in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, *IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM* to promote a more efficient, well-trained, and highly motivated workforce.

3. The training was facilitated by a team of forensic experts comprising Muhammad Amin Garba, FCFIP, FFIS, PS; Shehu Umar Maiyaki, Esq, FFIS; Ibrahim Sule, Esq; and Muhammad Khamis, MFIS.

4. Present in the closing ceremony include; Prof Mohammed Tabiu, SAN, Chairman of Aminu Magashi Garba (AMG) Foundation represented by Mallam Sulaiman Jalo Umar, the Executive Director of YOSPIS, Zainab Nasir Ahmad and Adama Usman, Esq among others.

It is my pleasure to address you today at the closing ceremony of this significant one-month training program. This collaboration between the Kano State Police Command and Autopsies Forensic Consultant Limited represents a landmark initiative in our quest to enhance the capacity of our personnel in intelligence gathering and criminal investigation, which is in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police aimed at enhancing the skills and knowledge of personnel to promote a more efficient, well-trained, and highly motivated workforce.

The application of Call Detail Record (CDR), International Mobile Subscriber Identity (IMSI) Catcher, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in our administrations, investigations, and operations will surely augment our capabilities to tackle complex crimes and ensure public safety. I commend the dedication and enthusiasm displayed by our facilitators throughout this training, and also appreciate our operatives for their commitment throughout the training session.

I charge our operatives to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during this program to drive innovation and effectiveness in their work. Let us harness the power of technology to stay ahead of criminal elements and make Kano State a safer place for all citizens.

28 SUSPECTS ARRESTED AS KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND CONDUCTS SUCCESSFUL CLEARANCE OPERATIONS UNDER "OPERATION KUKAN KURA"

The Kano State Police Command, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, has conducted a successful three-day clearance operation within Kano Metropolis. The operation, which was conducted from Saturday, 12th to Monday, 14th of July, 2025 aimed at curbing thuggery-related offenses, was carried out under the auspices of "Operation Kukan Kura," a community-centered initiative that encourages active participation from members of the public in crime fighting, prevention, management, and control.

2. During the operation, the Command's Operational Commanders, led by CP Bakori, worked tirelessly to ensure that the remnants of thuggery-related offenses were addressed. Notably, the operation yielded impressive results of the arrest of twenty-eight (28) suspects and recovery of dangerous weapons and illicit drugs, with no reported cases of undetected mobile phone robbery or theft recorded throughout the State.

3. The Commissioner of Police commended the officers for their commitment and dedication to duty, charging them to sustain the tempo in ensuring the safety and security of lives and property in Kano State.

4. The success of "Operation Kukan Kura" is a testament to the Command's resolve to engage with the community and work collaboratively to prevent and control crimes. KANO STATE POLICE COMMAND APPEALS FOR RESTRAINT FOLLOWING RECENT RELIGIOUS PREACHING CONTROVERSY

The Kano State Police Command is aware of the recent controversy surrounding the preachings by Sheikh Abubakar Lawan Triumph, which has generated heated discussions and concerns among certain groups. While acknowledging the rights to freedom of expression and worship, we are also mindful of the need to maintain public peace and order.

In response to the situation, on 10th July, 2025, the Kano State Commissioner of Police, having invited the Sheikh, has initiated discussions with relevant stakeholders, including government officials, religious leaders, and community representatives, to address the concerns and ensure that necessary measures are put in place to prevent any potential escalation.

The Command therefore, urges all citizens to remain calm and exercise restraint, avoiding actions that could exacerbate the situation. It is important to respect the rights and beliefs of others and to operate within the confines of laws and regulations that govern our society, in our exercise of freedom to worship and expression, among others.

We encourage anyone with legitimate concerns or complaints to channel them to the appropriate authorities rather than resorting to acts that could lead to infractions or inflammatory rhetoric on social media.

PRESS BRIEFING BY THE COMMISSIONER OF POLICE, CP IBRAHIM ADAMU BAKORI, PhD ON SECURITY SITUATION OF KANO STATE AND SUCCESSES RECORDED BY THE COMMAND IN ITS SUSTAINED FIGHT AGAINST ALL FORMS OF CRIMES IN THE STATE, HELD ON THURSDAY 10TH JULY, 2025 AT BOMPAI POLICE HEADQUARTERS, KANO

Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press;

I am pleased to welcome you to this Press Briefing and I thank you for your continuous support and partnership in our collective efforts to ensure safety and security in Kano State.

2. This media briefing aims to bring you up to speed on the current security progressions made, and the crime fighting strategies adopted by the Command as well as the achievements recorded in our sustained efforts to rid the State of all forms of crimes and criminality.

3. In this early second half of the year 2025 (i.e. 3rd Quarter of the Year), the dynamic security situation of the State was carefully studied and demographically analyzed. Consequently, the Command has now strategically launched a Special Operation, tagged “Operation Kukan Kura” which symbolizes adherence to the co-ethics of community policing where members of the public participate actively in policing activities, including information sharing, crime prevention, management and control. This is in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, PhD, NPM to all Police Commands and Formations on community-centric policing and strategy to dominate the public space against all forms of crimes and criminality.

4. The objective of this Special Operation is to act as a radar to detect and proactively nip in the bud any threats of thuggery-related crimes within Kano Metropolis, banditry and kidnapping along Kano borders, drug trafficking and abuse as well as other social vices in the State. Significant breakthroughs have been made since the launch of the operation on 1st of July, 2025.

5. Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press, from the Command’s last Press Release of 16th June, 2025 (i.e. within 24 days), a total of ninety-eight (98) suspects have been arrested, involved in twenty-one (21) major cases of armed robbery, thuggery (Daba), drug dealings, theft, fraud, etc.
Exhibits recovered from them included dangerous weapons; suspected stolen motor vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, mobile phones etc.; illicit drugs and counterfeit currencies. The summary of the achievements recorded is as follows:

ARRESTS:
i. Four (04) suspected kidnappers
ii. Twenty-one (21) suspected armed robbers
iii. Five (5) suspected drug dealers
iv. Twelve (12) suspected motor vehicle thieves
v. Four (04) suspected fraudsters
vi. Five (05) suspected thieves
vii. Forty-seven (47) suspected thugs

RECOVERIES:
i. Six (06) motor vehicles
ii. Eight (08) Tricycles
iii. Ten (10) motorcycles
iv. Forty-two (42) tubes of red solutions
v. Thirty-five (35) parcels, one thousand one hundred and twenty-three (1123) wraps of substance suspected to be cannabis sativa
vi. Eighty-six (86) Bottle of suck and die
vii. Thirty (30) sachets, forty-three (43) pieces of Exol tablets
viii. Ten (10) sachets and fifty-three (53) pieces of diazepam tablets
ix. Sixteen (16) cutlasses and Ninety-eight (98) knives
x. Ten thousand counterfeit US dollar ($10,000)
xi. Thirteen (13) mobile phones
xii. Five (05) motor batteries and three (03) motor spare tyres.

6. Going Forward:
The newly launched Operation Kukan Kura is being integrated into the several robust Operational Strategies earlier adopted by the Command that have had great impact in curbing crimes in the State, including Intelligence-led Raid operations, visibility patrols, strengthened synergy with other security agencies, strategic communication, and robust community policing engagements with traditional rulers, religious leaders, members of the press, youths’ groups, NGOs, CSOs, community members and other key stakeholders, etc.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis today, 9th July, 2025 received courtesy visits from key stakeholders in the State, including the newly elected Executive of Kano Correspondents' Chapel, Kano State Chapter of Nigerian Institute of Management, Kano Car Dealers Association, and Chief Executive Officer of Golden Heart Foundation for Women and Children.

2. The newly elected Chairman of the Kano State Correspondents' Chapel, Mr. Murtala Adewale discussed ways to strengthen the already existing collaboration between the Police and the media in promoting public safety and awareness. The Chairman also pledged to continue assisting the Command to achieve its mandate, as their work is somewhat similar to that of the Nigeria Police. The Commissioner of Police emphasized the importance of accurate reporting in shaping public confidence and perception. He promised to provide the media with the necessary cooperation and timely updates on security matters.

3. The delegation from the Nigerian Institute of Management, led by the Vice Chairman, Engr. Murtala Alhaji Garba explored opportunities and partnerships for capacity building, focusing on promoting excellence in management practice. The Commissioner of Police appreciated the Institute's offer to support Police training and development.

4. The Kano State Car Dealers Association delegation, led by the Chairman, Alh Madugu Ibrahim Madugu, discussed strategies for combating vehicle theft and armed robbery, particularly in the automotive industry. The Commissioner of Police assured the Association of the Command's commitment to working with them to address security challenges affecting their businesses, and has directed sentization program for them.

5. The Golden Heart Foundation delegation, led by the Chief Executive Officer, Hajiya Bilkisu Ibrahim Danmumini, discussed the organization's work, successes, and explored areas of collaboration to address issues related to women and children's welfare. The Commissioner of Police pledged to work closely with the Foundation to protect vulnerable populations and promote their welfare.

6. In a demonstration of support for the welfare of Police personnel, El's Foundation led by the President, Mrs. Adesuwa O. Udo in collaboration with the Command, organized a one-day medical outreach for officers. This initiative aims to promote the well-being of the officers to serve the community effectively.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, sfipma, mnim, mnips, masis received courtesy visits from key stakeholders in the State, including the Kano State Shari'a Commission, the Partnership Against Violence Extremism (PAVE), and the entourage of the Chairman of Pentacostal Fellowship of Nigeria.

2. The visits which took place today, 8th July, 2025 demonstrate the Command's commitment to collaborative efforts in promoting peace, security, and community policing.

3. Sheikh Abbas Abubakar Daneji, Executive Chairman of the Kano State Shari'a Commission, led a delegation to discuss the role of faith-based initiatives in promoting peace and security. The Chairman thanked the CP and request for more support and cooperation. The Commissioner of Police appreciated the Commission's efforts in promoting moral values and assured collaboration in addressing security challenges.

4. Rev. Dr. Elkene Euweluzor, Chairman of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, Kano State Chapter, led a delegation to explore ways to enhance collaboration between the Police and the Christian community. The Chairman pledged to continue praying for the State and the nation at large. The Commissioner of Police expressed delight for the visit and emphasized on the role of religious leaders in promoting peace and security.

KANO POLICE COMMAND REITERATES COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY POLICING AND ZERO TOLERANCE TO CORRUPTION

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, convened a security briefing with Heads of Departments (HODs) and Tactical Commanders in the Command today, July 7, 2025. The meeting aimed to review ongoing security operations and chart a way forward in the fight against crime in Kano State.

2. During the meeting, CP Bakori expressed his satisfaction with the evidential results from the Command's people-oriented/community policing strategy in crime-fighting, maintenance of law and public order, and ensuring the safety of lives and property across the State. He charged them to sustain their efforts in crime prevention, management, and control, emphasizing that the Command's commitment to tackle crime remains unwavering.

3. The Commissioner of Police reiterated the importance of community policing, urging officers to continue engaging with the community and all security stakeholders to foster trust, cooperation, and a sense of shared responsibility for security. WELFARE OF RETIRED OFFICERS: CP BAKORI ENGAGES WITH ASSOCIATIONS OF RETIRED POLICE OFFICERS, REITERATES IGP'S COMMITMENT TO IMPROVED WELFARE

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori, PhD, today, 4th July, 2025 hosted a delegation from the National Association of Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (NARPON), and Retired Police Officers of Nigeria (REPON), Kano State Chapters. This meeting is in line with the directives of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, aimed at fostering dialogue with retired officers on matters affecting their welfare.

2. During the engagement, the Commissioner of Police reaffirmed the Force's commitment to prioritizing the welfare of both serving and retired Police personnel. He acknowledged the significant contributions of retired officers to the nation's security and emphasized that the IGP is working hard towards providing them with necessary welfare supports, and recognition.

3. The CP reiterated the pledge of the Inspector-General of Police to work closely with relevant stakeholders to address the challenges faced by Police retirees, ensuring that their welfare remains a top priority.

4. The Associations, led by DSP Mallam Abubakar Ahmed (rtd) of NARPON and ASP Sa'idu Garba (rtd), Secretary of REPON expressed their gratitude to the Inspector-General of Police for his dedication to addressing the challenges faced by retired officers and pensioners. They expressed confidence that the IGP is handling the matters of their well-being and security with utmost concerns.

5. The Kano State Police Command remains committed to building a strong relationship with retired officers and ensuring that their contributions to the Force are highly recognized in line with the mission of the Inspector-General of Police.
