EPISODE 3: WHEN LOVE BECAME A CRIME 🇳🇬 🇿🇦

That was when the problems began.
At work, colleagues whispered:
“She chose a Nigerian?”

“These guys use juju.”

His shifts were changed unfairly.
His overtime disappeared.

Thandi’s friends cut her off.
“You’ll regret this.”
“They’re all criminals.”

Her mother cried when she found out.

“After apartheid, this is what we suffer?”
Chika was stopped by police more often.

Once, he was searched publicly while Thandi watched helplessly.
He begged her to leave him.

“You’re losing everyone because of me.”
But she stood firm.

“I choose you. Even if it costs me comfort.”

They faced insults, isolation, fear—together.
Laughing some days.

Crying many nights.
Love became survival.

EPISODE 2: THE WOMAN HE DIDN’T ASK FOR 🇳🇬 🇿🇦

Her name was Thandiwe Mokoena, born in Soweto, raised by a single mother who taught her never to trust foreigners—especially Nigerians.

Thandi worked in the same warehouse, in the admin unit.
Educated. Sharp. Strong-minded.

She noticed Chika first.
Not because he talked—but because he didn’t.
While others complained, Chika worked.
While others gossiped, Chika prayed during lunch breaks.
She tried to start conversations.

He avoided her.
He had heard stories.

In*******al relationships. Xenophobia. Police harassment. False accusations.

He once told her plainly:
“Please, I don’t want trouble. I just want to work and go home.”

But Thandi didn’t stop.
She brought him lunch.

Defended him when coworkers mocked his accent.
Asked about his family in Nigeria.

Slowly, walls cracked.
Against his fears… love started.

EPISODE 1: THE JOURNEY NOBODY SEES 🇳🇬 vs 🇿🇦

His name was Chika Raymond, born and raised in Zaria, Kaduna State. He is an Igbo guy from Orlu, in Imo state Nigeria.
A quiet guy. Not lazy. Not reckless. Just tired.

Back in Nigeria, Chika had a second-class upper degree in Business Administration, from ahmadu bello university zaria, but reality humbled him fast.

Three years after NYSC, all he had were rejection emails, unpaid internships, and the shame of being called “graduate but jobless.”
In 2018, when his mother sold her last gold bangle and his elder brother borrowed money from a cooperative, Ibrahim took a visitor visa to Johannesburg, South Africa—like many Nigerians chasing “greener pasture.

No hero’s welcome.
No instant success.

He slept on the floor of a one-room apartment in Hillbrow, shared with three other Africans.

He worked as a warehouse packer in Germiston, standing 12 hours a day, earning less than locals, enduring insults like:

“You Nigerians come here to steal our jobs.”

He kept quiet.
Because silence paid rent.
