When Curiosity Meets Opportunity: How ENGAUSA Hub Sparked a Tech-Driven Enterprise in Kano 8 Years Ago ✨⭐️👍

Introduction

At ENGAUSA Gloal Tech Hub, curiosity isn’t just encouraged — it’s cultivated into innovation. Ibrahim Rabiu Aliyu’s journey is a shining example of what happens when young minds are given the right environment to learn, create, and lead. What began as a spark of curiosity soon evolved into a thriving solar energy enterprise, proving that with the right guidance, local passion can power national transformation.

Today, Ibrahim’s clean-energy company serves homes and businesses across Nigeria — a living testament to ENGAUSA Hub’s deeper purpose: turning potential into progress, and passion into purpose, while building a generation of tech-driven entrepreneurs who are redefining what’s possible.

The Beginning of a Spark

For Ibrahim Rabiu Aliyu, curiosity was the first step toward destiny. Long before he became a CEO, he was a young enthusiast fascinated by the invisible force that powers homes — electricity. After secondary school, he began experimenting with solar installations and inverter systems, teaching himself through trial and error. Yet, like many self-taught learners, he soon hit a wall: limited resources, no mentorship, and no structured pathway to turn his passion into a profession.

The Turning Point — Discovering ENGAUSA Hub

Everything changed in 2018 when Ibrahim stumbled upon ENGAUSA Global Tech Hub on Facebook. The images and stories of young people building, fixing, and learning caught his attention. Driven by curiosity, he visited the Hub — and instantly knew he had found something special.

At ENGAUSA Hub, learning wasn’t just theoretical; it was practical, inclusive, and rooted in understanding. The bilingual (Hausa + English) teaching model made even complex concepts easy to grasp. Ibrahim joined a diverse community — from almajiris and out-of-school youth to graduates — all united by one purpose: to learn, innovate, and build a better future.

From Learner to Leader

Through his training, Ibrahim mastered solar installation, CCTV setup, intercom systems, and the repair and maintenance of inverters and charge controllers. But ENGAUSA Hub offered more than technical knowledge — it nurtured discipline, teamwork, and entrepreneurial thinking. Empowered with both skill and mindset, Ibrahim co-founded Annur Standard Solution Technologies Nigeria Limited with a few peers. Today, he leads the company as CEO, providing clean-energy solutions and technical support services to homes and businesses across Nigeria.

His story reflects the essence of ENGAUSA’s mission — transforming raw talent into enterprise, and curiosity into competence. What started as an experiment in a small workshop has evolved into a model for inclusive, tech-driven entrepreneurship that empowers young Nigerians to create jobs rather than seek them.

The ENGAUSA Philosophy — Turning Potential into Progress

At ENGAUSA Hub, we believe opportunity should speak the language of the learner. By combining innovation with cultural relevance, we make technology accessible to all — regardless of background, language, or prior education. Ibrahim’s success is one of many stories proving that when learning is inclusive, local, and hands-on, the results are nothing short of transformational.

So whether you’re a student, graduate, or self-taught dreamer — your own journey can begin right here.
Start your transformation with ENGAUSA Hub today — because one decision can change everything.

Mexican Foundation Honors ENGAUSA HUB Founder With Inclusive ICT Skills Award

Engr. Mustapha Habu Ringim, Founder of the ENGAUSA Skills Development Foundation, has once again been recognized for his outstanding contributions to skills development and inclusive education.

He was honoured with the Vocational Excellence Award by Fundación Marcelino Muñoz, Mexico, in collaboration with the Skills Acquisition Institution of People With Disabilities (SAIPWDs).

The award was presented during the graduation ceremony of the Online Diploma Advance Comprehensive Educational Program held at Khalifa Isyaku Rabiu University (KHAIRUN) on Thursday, 25th September 2025.

The ceremony was chaired by Dr. Bashir Sabo, former Provost of FCE Bichi, and hosted by Prof. Abdulrashid Garba, Vice Chancellor of KHAIRUN, with Prof. Aliyu Rufai, Registrar MRTS serving as Chief Host. Presentations were delivered by Dr. Ibrahim Usman Alkawa, Director of Academic Planning at Kano State Polytechnic, and Prof. Kabiru Isa Dandago.

The award is named after Dr. Marcelino Muñoz Sánchez, a celebrated Mexican entrepreneur, philanthropist, and education advocate. Rising from humble beginnings in Río Bravo, Tamaulipas, Dr. Muñoz went on to found Grupo JOMAR, a major auto-parts business, as well as the Fundación Marcelino Muñoz, which focuses on tackling educational inequality, poverty, health challenges, and environmental issues.

The recognition of Engr. Mustapha with this award places him in the company of leaders and visionaries working globally to transform education and empower underserved communities.

This international honour follows closely after Engr. Mustapha received the SCIAN 2025 Vocational Award from the Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria (Kano Chapter). Taken together, the two awards — one conferred locally and the other internationally — highlight the growing reach and impact of his work. They underscore how a vision born in Kano now resonates on the global stage, affirming ENGAUSA’s model as a beacon for inclusive skills training.

Engr. Mustapha dedicated the award to the staff of ENGAUSA Skills Development Foundation, its many supporters, and the resilient learners — particularly those living with physical, psychological, and educational disabilities — who continue to inspire with their courage and determination.

This recognition is a reminder that vocational skills are not just tools for survival; they are pathways to dignity, empowerment, and social transformation. With commendations coming both from Nigeria and from international institutions, the message is clear: inclusive skills education is a necessity for the future, and ENGAUSA is leading the way from Kano to the world.

Engr. Mustapha Habu Ringim Receives SCIAN 2025 Vocational Award

Kano, 20th September 2025

Engr. Mustapha Habu Ringim, Founder of the ENGAUSA Skills Development Foundation, has been honoured with the SCIAN 2025 Vocational Award by the Kano State Chapter of the Spinal Cord Injuries Association of Nigeria (SCIAN), under the leadership of its chairman, Abdurrahman Uba Daushe. The award recognises his outstanding contributions to vocational skills and entrepreneurship development, particularly among members of the Association.

The award ceremony, held in Kano Metropolis to mark the 2025 Spinal Cord Injury Day, brought together government officials, academics, community leaders, and advocates to celebrate individuals and organisations that have championed empowerment, inclusion, and social development.

In his goodwill message at the ceremony, Engr. Mustapha Habu paid special tribute to one of his greatest mentors, Mal. Habibu Sani Talban Babura, who lived for 36 years with a quadriplegia spinal cord injury. He noted that Mal. Habibu’s resilience and wisdom during his trial period as a student at Bayero University Kano played a key role in shaping his career path.

Quoting a profound Hadith of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he reminded the audience:

“When Allah intends good for someone, He afflicts him with trials.” (Sahih al-Bukhari)

He explained that this Hadith reflects not only the experiences of many people with spinal cord injuries but also the realities faced by all people living with physical, psychological, and educational disabilities, who—despite challenges—continue to demonstrate remarkable patience, resilience, and excellence. He further emphasised that every human being carries some form of weakness or limitation. This truth is captured in the Qur’anic verse:

“And Allah wants to lighten for you [your difficulties]; and mankind was created weak.” (Surah An-Nisa 4:28)

According to him, this verse underscores the universality of human vulnerability and the need for societies to build systems of empathy, empowerment, and inclusion.

Engr. Mustapha also highlighted that ENGAUSA TVET Training operates on a model of inclusivity, free from discrimination, stereotypes, and segregation. At ENGAUSA, persons with disabilities train alongside others and are recognised as “People With Special Abilities” because of their exceptional performance across various technical fields. This approach, he noted, demonstrates that inclusive learning enriches innovation, collaboration, and community development.

The SCIAN 2025 Vocational Award, he stated, is not just an individual honour but a collective recognition. He dedicated it to the staff of ENGAUSA Skills Development Foundation, the many contributors and philanthropists, as well as the public and private organisations that support the Foundation’s philanthropic activities. He further extended the dedication to all people struggling with physical, psychological, and educational disabilities—whom ENGAUSA proudly recognises as People With Special Abilities—who continue to defy limitations and pursue their dreams with courage and resilience.

The award underscores Engr. Mustapha’s lifelong commitment to using vocational education and skills development as powerful tools for dignity, independence, and sustainable livelihoods. And as the world marked Spinal Cord Injury Day 2025, the occasion served as a reminder that inclusion, empowerment, and opportunities for people living with disabilities—whom ENGAUSA proudly recognises as “People With Special Abilities” are not acts of charity but necessities for building a just and progressive society. This ethos lies at the very heart of the ENGAUSA Skills Development Foundation.

Engineering, Language, and Nation-Building: A Conversation with WFEO President, Engr. Mustafa Balarabe Shehu 💡

When asked what gave him the confidence to take on the WFEO presidency, he traced it back to lessons from his private practice:

“When you want to build sustainable companies, you have to think beyond yourself. You have to build systems and structures that ensure continuity even when you are not there, and you have to surround yourself with like minds.”

The Power of Language in Learning
At the start of the podcast, he was asked about ENGAUSA’s model of teaching science and technology in the mother tongue. His response was both practical and profound:

“If you go to advanced and developed countries, that is what they do. They teach in their language, and that is why you find that children understand what is being taught to them faster. At our WFEO meetings, we need translation devices because not all members understand English, yet all are thriving engineers. We need to rid ourselves of this colonial mentality that makes us treat our language as inferior.”..

FCDO and PLANE Commend ENGAUSA Hub’s Multilingual, Hands-On Model for Transforming Skills Training

On Thursday, 5th September 2024, ENGAUSA Global Tech Hub had the privilege of hosting a distinguished delegation from the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) and the Partnership for Learning for All in Nigeria (PLANE). The team was led by Mr. Ian Attfield, Senior Education Adviser at the British High Commission in Abuja. The two organizations developed a keen interest in visiting our innovation hub after listening to two compelling presentations, delivered in both Hausa and English sessions, by our CEO, Engr. Mustapha Habu Ringim, during the recently conducted KADA EduPACT International Summit. These presentations not only highlighted ENGAUSA’s impact but also showcased the uniqueness of its multilingual and hands-on approach to technical education, which makes cutting-edge skills more accessible to diverse communities.

FCDO and PLANE further identified key areas of collaboration with ENGAUSA HUB to integrate Almajiri and out-of-school youth into its programmes, in alignment with accelerated and non-formal basic education initiatives. Mr. Attfield also observed that one of Nigeria’s most pressing challenges is finding effective ways to harness existing State and Federal resources to support skills-based education, and he noted that ENGAUSA’s model provides a practical pathway toward this goal…
