JUST IN: Tinubu Convenes Emergency Security Meeting

Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said on Sunday he is holding an extended security meeting with service chiefs and heads of intelligence agencies to address recent security breaches across parts of the country.

Tinubu, in a statement posted on his social media account, said the meeting includes the Chief of Defence Staff, service chiefs, the Inspector-General of Police, the Director-General of the Department of State Services (DSS), and leaders of other security bodies.

He said the session is reviewing updated security reports and taking โ€œdecisive actionsโ€ to stabilise affected areas. The president added that he has ordered security agencies to act with โ€œspeed, precision and absolute resolve.โ€

โ€œAs President, I am fully committed to the security of all Nigerians. Those who threaten the peace and security of our nation will face the full weight of the law,โ€ Tinubu said.

He added that he is receiving continuous briefings from the security architecture, expressing confidence that โ€œNigeria will prevail.โ€

Condolence Message to the Governments of Niger and Kebbi States

I extend my heartfelt condolences to the Governments and people of Niger and Kebbi States over the tragic attacks carried out by terrorists on schools. This unfortunate incident has caused deep sorrow and fear among students, teachers, and parents.

I strongly condemn this inhumane act that threatens education, peace, and the future of our children. Schools must remain safe places for learning, not targets of violence.

I call on the security agencies to intensify efforts to protect our schools, rescue the abducted students, and bring the perpetrators to justice. I pray for strength for the affected families and for the restoration of peace in all impacted communities.

May Almighty God protect our children, strengthen our nation, and bring an end to all forms of terrorism in Nigeria.
