Reports from US media, citing his manager Chris Volo and emergency personnel dispatches, indicate Hogan passed away at his Florida home.

Known for his imposing 6โ€™7โ€ frame, signature bandana, and blond handlebar mustache, Hoganโ€™s magnetic โ€œHulkamaniaโ€ persona transformed the World Wrestling Federation (WWF, now WWE) into a global phenomenon, captivating millions and making him a household name alongside contemporaries like Andre the Giant and โ€œRowdyโ€ Roddy Piper.

Beyond the ring, Hogan, whose real name was Terry Bollea, extended his celebrity into acting with roles in films such as โ€œRocky IIIโ€ and โ€œNo Holds Barred,โ€ and even televisionโ€™s โ€œBaywatch.โ€ He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005. JUST IN: Professor Yilwatda Appointed APC National Chairman

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially named Professor Nentawe Yilwatda as its new national chairman. The appointment was made during the ongoing APC National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja on Thursday.

Professor Yilwatda, who previously served as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, was nominated by Hope Uzodima, Chairman of the Progressive Governors and Governor of Imo State.

The motion was seconded by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Abba Tajudeen, confirming his selection to lead the party.

Kwankwaso to Receive Honorary Degree as Northwest University Kano Holds Combined Convocation

Northwest University, Kano, is set to hold its second combined convocation ceremony from July 25 to 26, 2025, Vice Chancellor Professor Muktar Atiku Kurawa announced at a press conference on Tuesday.

Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda was involved in a car accident on Sunday evening while traveling along the DauraKatsina Road during his official duties.

The incident occurred as the governor was on the move to serve his people. Immediate actions were taken to ensure his safety following the crash.

According to a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, the governor did not sustain any serious injuries and is currently in stable condition.

NDLEA Captures Notorious Drug Kingpin After 7 Years, Seizes Large Drug Hauls Nationwide

After seven years of evading capture, the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) arrested Okpara Paul Chigozie, a 60-year-old wanted drug kingpin, following a raid at his hideout in Lagos.

The arrest came shortly after his couriers were intercepted transporting 7.6 kilograms of co***ne and 900 grams of methamphetamine concealed in a vehicle destined for Onitsha, Anambra State. Additional drugs including co***ne and methamphetamine were recovered from Okparaโ€™s residence in Isheri, marking a significant breakthrough in the agencyโ€™s fight against drug trafficking in Nigeria.

In separate operations at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport and various locations across the country, NDLEA also seized large quantities of controlled substances.

On July 16, airport officials intercepted 7,790 pills of tramadol and rohypnol from a passenger bound for Italy, while on July 17, 1.7 kilograms of cannabis concealed in cereal packs were seized at the Lagos export shed. These coordinated efforts highlight the agencyโ€™s commitment to disrupting drug smuggling routes both domestically and internationally.

Further raids exposed drug distribution networks within urban centers, such as the shutdown of a party drug distribution hub at Sarah Sam Hotels in Lagos. Several suspects were arrested and various narcotics including cannabis variants and gummies were confiscated.

Additionally, operations in Kaduna, Kano, Gombe, Borno, Bayelsa, Kogi, Abia, Enugu, and Taraba states led to the arrest of multiple suspects and the seizure of kilograms of cannabis, synthetic drugs, and thousands of tramadol pills.

These multi state crackdowns underline NDLEAโ€™s intensified intelligence-led approach to combating drug trafficking and abuse nationwide.

By targeting key players and intercepting large consignments of narcotics, the agency aims to dismantle the networks fueling drug-related crimes, ensuring safer communities across Nigeria.

I Joined ADC to Rescue Nigeria Not Because of Atiku- Kano Politician

Alhaji Ibrahim Ali Amin, widely known as Ibrahim Little, a seasoned politician from Kano State, has clarified that his recent shift to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) is driven by a desire to rescue Nigeria from worsening leadership challenges, rather than personal ties with former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. In an interview in Kano, Little emphasized that his political moves have always been motivated by supporting platforms that can bring genuine progress to both Nigeria and his home state.

Little criticized the Peopleโ€™s Democratic Party (PDP) for its ongoing internal crises, lack of leadership, and disregard for its founding principles. He explained that the party no longer functions cohesively and suffers from leadership tussles that have eroded its internal democracy.

These issues led him to break away and align with the ADC coalition, which he believes offers a better pathway toward rebuilding the nation and restoring democratic values.

Rejecting claims that his defection was influenced by Atiku Abubakar, Little stressed that their relationship remains personal, not political. He further condemned the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for failing Nigerians in critical areas such as security, healthcare, education, and poverty reduction. According to Little, Nigeriaโ€™s worsening conditions under APC compelled him to join the ADC coalition to help rescue the country from continued deterioration.

Looking ahead, Little expressed his willingness to contest for political office to address Kanoโ€™s unemployment, poverty, and social challenges. He pledged to prioritize free education and healthcare, recalling how government funded schooling shaped his own life.

Highlighting Kanoโ€™s economic potential due to its large population, he argued that with proper investment and business empowerment, the state could become an economic powerhouse and contribute significantly to Nigeriaโ€™s development.
