For a long time, tech conversations didn’t sound like us. They didn’t look like us. They definitely didn’t speak our language.

So we built our own.

We’ve rolled out our first bilingual Malamiromba newsletter, sharing technology, community stories, and digital opportunities in English and Hausa side by side.

This is about culture meeting innovation. About the Hausa Speaking communities across the world telling its own tech story. About making sure no capable mind is left behind because of language or access.

More editions are coming.
More voices will be heard.

Using public Wi-Fi without a VPN (Virtual Private Network) exposes your data to hackers, making you vulnerable to cyberattacks. Here’s why you should always use a VPN on public networks:

1. Hackers Can Intercept Your Data 📡
Public Wi-Fi networks are often unencrypted, allowing cybercriminals to use packet sniffers or man-in-the-middle (MITM) attacks to capture your login credentials, emails, and browsing history.

2. Your Personal Information is at Risk 🔓
Without a VPN, sensitive data like passwords, banking details, and private messages can be stolen. Hackers can even inject malware into your device.

3. VPNs Encrypt Your Connection 🔐
A VPN creates a secure, encrypted tunnel between your device and the internet, making it nearly impossible for hackers to access your data—even on unsecured public Wi-Fi at cafes, airports, or hotels.

4. Protects Your Privacy & Online Activity 🕵️
Public Wi-Fi providers (hotels, restaurants, airports) and even hackers can track your online activity. A VPN hides your IP address and browsing history, keeping you anonymous.

5. Secure Access to Work & Personal Accounts 🏢
If you use public Wi-Fi for email, banking, or work, a VPN ensures that your employer’s data, financial transactions, and personal information remain secure.

"Digital Nomading…"

As always, translating certain English terms can be tricky, but let me explain this one the way I know best—through storytelling!

Someone might say, “This term sounds more like it’s meant for traders, travelers, or perhaps merchants!”

But actually, "Digital Nomading" refers to someone who works from anywhere—whether it’s from their bed, their shop, or even a relaxing spot somewhere. If you’re a digital nomad, you could be working from your bedroom, a famous café in Zaria, or even Dubai—wherever the internet can reach, you can make your money!

So, if you prefer, you could work from your bed (in whatever position you like 🙈), from a local masallaci, or even from a cramped room somewhere in Kano. It doesn’t matter, as long as you’ve got internet and a laptop.

Whether it’s at the office or from your bed at home, once you’ve got internet access and the skill to make things happen, success will follow you wherever you go—straight-up Digital Nomad life!
