Katsina, Sokoto, Kano, Jigawa, Kebbi, Niger and Yobe Spend N28.3bn On Ramadan Feeding.
Katsina State took the lead in the feeding program with a budget allocation of N10 billion.
Sokoto N6.7 billion
Kano N6 billion
Jigawa N2.83 billion
Kebbi N1.5 billion
Niger N976 million
Yobe N178 million
It has been noted that numerous states, particularly those in the North, have allocated funds for the project but have chosen not to disclose the exact amounts publicly.
In various circles, concerns have been raised, prompting certain religious leaders to advocate for transparency, given the significant funds allocated.
They emphasized the importance of supporting the less privileged to provide meals during Ramadan while also urging careful consideration to avoid any potential misuse of the system.
