Kwayalwa Primary School Class of 1980 Marks Historic 46th Anniversary Reunion
KATSINA, NIGERIA — It was a momentous homecoming as the Kwayalwa Primary School "Old Boys and Girls" Association (Class of 1974–1980) gathered to celebrate their 46th Anniversary. The event served as a bridge between the past and the present, honoring decades of professional excellence, service to the nation, and enduring friendships.
The atmosphere was filled with nostalgia as classmates, who began their educational journey together nearly five decades ago, reunited to celebrate their collective achievements and support one another’s milestones.
Honoring a Legacy of Service
A significant portion of the ceremony was dedicated to honoring distinguished members who have recently transitioned into retirement after meritorious careers in the military, civil service, and security sectors.
Key Retirement Awardees included:
General A.K. Lawal (mni) – Recognized for his high-ranking military service and strategic leadership.
Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Keegan – Honored for his contributions to his professional field.
Abdulkadir Hamza – Retired Director, Katsina State Television (KTTV).
Abdullahi Ibrahim – Retired Assistant Director, State Security Service (SSS).
Celebrating Career Milestones
The reunion also served as a platform to applaud members who have recently reached the pinnacle of their careers through high-profile promotions and appointments.
Prominent Honorees included:
Alh. Shehu Imu Barde – Current Ambassador to Ghana.
CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori (PhD) – Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command.
Alh. Aliyu Shehu Kafindangi – Newly promoted Zonal Director (North West), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Mohammad Idris Ingawa – Comptroller of Customs, in charge of Borno and Yobe Command.
Abdu Mamman – Deputy Comptroller, Nigeria Correctional Service.
ACP Hajiya Shafa’atu Usman Kofarbai – Assistant Commissioner of Police.
