2027: Katsina Will Repay Tinubu’s Goodwill Through Re-election, Says Gwajo-Gwajo
The Political Adviser to the Katsina State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ya’u Umar Gwajo-Gwajo, has described the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027 as an opportunity for the people of Katsina State to reciprocate the goodwill and support the President has extended to the state and its people.
Gwajo-Gwajo made the remarks on Thursday, August 20, 2026, when he received a delegation of the Tinubu Again Support Movement on behalf of the Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, at his office at the Old Government House, Katsina.
The delegation was led by the North-West Coordinator of the organisation, Hon. Umar Maiwata, as part of the group’s engagement and mobilisation activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The Tinubu Again Support Movement comprises former political appointees that includes SSA and SA, who served under past governors of the North-West states, as well as serving political office holders. The movement was established to mobilise support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, APC governors across the North, and other candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 elections.
Hon. Umar Maiwata, who spoke on behalf of the movement, disclosed that the organisation enjoys the support of the Minister of State for Defence, His Excellency Alhaji Bello Matawalle.
Speaking on the significance of the movement, Gwajo-Gwajo said its establishment was a strategic step towards consolidating support for President Tinubu and ensuring the success of the APC in the 2027 elections.
He noted that the people of Katsina State have compelling reasons to appreciate and support President Tinubu, particularly considering his longstanding relationship with and contributions to prominent sons of the state, including former Presidents Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and Muhammadu Buhari.
According to him, the people of Katsina have a duty to acknowledge the President’s goodwill and support, adding that voting for his re-election in 2027 would provide an opportunity for the people to express their appreciation and reciprocate the positive gestures extended to the state and its people.
In his remarks, the National Chairman of the Tinubu Again Support Movement, represented by the organisation’s spokesperson, reaffirmed the movement’s determination to work tirelessly towards securing President Tinubu’s victory in the 2027 presidential election.
He explained that the delegation was on a familiarisation and mobilisation tour aimed at strengthening collaboration with its members and stakeholders across the North-West.
He disclosed that the tour would cover five states, with Katsina State serving as the first point of call.
Also speaking, the Katsina State Coordinator of the movement, Hon. Bashir Ya’u (Bershow), stressed the importance of unity, cooperation and collective effort among APC stakeholders to ensure the success of the party’s candidates in the 2027 elections.
He reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to sustained public enlightenment, grassroots mobilisation and engagement with relevant stakeholders in pursuit of the objectives for which the movement was established.
The visit culminated in the presentation of a letter of appointment to Rt. Hon. Ya’u Umar Gwajo-Gwajo, formally recognising him as the National Patron of the Tinubu Again Support Movement.
The organisation also nominated Hon. Bashir Ya’u (Bershow) as the Katsina State Coordinator of the movement.
The development further underscores the growing mobilisation and political engagement among supporters of the APC ahead of the 2027 general elections.
