NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF STUDENTS OF ENGLISH AND LITERARY STUDIES, NASARAWA STATE UNIVERSITY, KEFFI.
A WELCOME MESSAGE TO NEW AND RETURNING STUDENTS.
I am delighted to send this message to all the students especially the fresh students.
Firstly, I wish to welcome both the returning and fresh NASELSITES to campus for the 2018/2019 session. I wish to congratulate the returning NASELSITES on their success at the 2017/2018 session's examination. I also share the same joy with the freshers on their admission to the Department of English, Nasarawa State University, Keffi this session.
The need to provide both the fresh and returning NASELSITES with adequate and up-to-date information on activities of the department as well as the need to bridge communication gap is my major concern.
My vision is to have an enviable association that will be second to non in the University community and even beyond. This shall be actualized through the following mission statements in the various aspects
Mission statements;
*To make the welfare of students a
top priority
*To reposition NASELS for knowledge
*To improve the physical infrastructure and
environment.
*To revive academic culture among Naselsites.
Moreover, I want to use this opportunity to remind all students that cultism is an abomination in this association and the University at large. You must therefore shun it. I also want to inform all fresh students that there are approved academic clubs in the
department to which they can seek membership. Such registered organisations can help build up your intellectual potentials. Interested students who wish to take advantage of the existence of these academic clubs are advised to
contact the NASELS-NSUK secretariat for guidance.
It is our expectation that all your energies, time and resources will be directed always to things that are noble and constructive.
Finally, I welcome you to the Department of English and pray that you have a memorable stay in the University.
Signed:
