Popular Influencer Oladapo Mikky Blasts Yagba East LG Chairman Over Insecurity

Popular social commentator and influencer Oladapo Mikky has called out the Chairman of Yagba East Local Government, Hon. Joshua Dare, over what he described as the chairman’s habitual denial and inaction in the face of rising insecurity in the area.

In a strongly worded statement, Mikky criticized the council boss for debunking citizens’ reports of attacks instead of taking decisive steps to protect lives and property.

“Each time citizens raise the alarm on insecurity, your first instinct is to debunk rather than respond,” Mikky said. “Instead of calling an emergency council meeting, you call the media. Instead of verifying the cries of your people, you rush to dismiss them as ‘false alarms.’ That is not leadership—that is denial dressed as duty.”

He cited recent attacks on communities like Ilafin, Odo-ogbe, and Ilotin, and mentioned the kidnap of Mr. Tuesday Omokore and his wife in Isanlu, noting that the situation has left residents living in fear and farmers abandoning their fields.

Mikky further drew comparisons with Yagba West Chairman, Hon. Olokun Tosin Lagba, commending him for showing courage and engagement in handling similar security challenges.

He concluded with a stern warning:

“No report of insecurity from Yagba East will ever again be silenced, underreported, or swept under your carpet. The people will speak loudly and truthfully. History will record who stood up for them and who hid behind press releases.”

Major General Waidi Shaibu is the 25th Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of the Nigerian Army. He assumed office today October 30, 2025, succeeding Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, who was appointed as the new Chief of Defence Staff (CDS).
