STILL I STAND

Episode 6: Lola's Final Revenge

The room fell silent.

David's phone slipped from his hand.

"Lola has escaped..."

Adelaide held her mother's hand tightly.

"No... not again."

ZUBBY immediately stepped outside and called the local police.

"Please protect this hospital. A dangerous woman is coming here."

But Lola was already closer than anyone imagined.

Disguised in a nurse's uniform, she walked calmly through the hospital corridors, carrying a tray of medicine.

No one recognized her.

Her eyes burned with hatred.

"This is all Adelaide's fault," she whispered. "If she had stayed out of ZUBBY's life, none of this would have happened."

She quietly entered the room where Adelaide's mother was resting.

Adelaide had stepped outside to buy medicine, while ZUBBY was speaking with the doctor.

Only the elderly woman remained inside.

Lola locked the door.

The old woman looked up.

"Who are you?"

Lola slowly removed her face mask.

"I'm the woman who lost everything because of your daughter."

She raised a syringe filled with poison.

"I'm ending this today."

The old woman closed her eyes and whispered,

"God... protect my child."

Just then—

BANG!

The door flew open.

ZUBBY rushed inside after hearing a scream from a nurse.

Without thinking, he jumped between Lola and Adelaide's mother.

The syringe pierced ZUBBY's shoulder instead.

"ZUBBY!" Adelaide screamed as she ran into the room.

Lola dropped the syringe in shock.

She had wanted revenge...

But she had never imagined ZUBBY would sacrifice himself.

Within seconds, doctors surrounded him.

His breathing became weak.

Queen Bethy, who had just arrived at the hospital, fell to her knees.

"Not my son..."

Adelaide held ZUBBY's hand, crying uncontrollably.

"Please don't leave me."

ZUBBY smiled weakly.

"I made a promise to your mother..."

"I will always protect you."

His eyes slowly closed.

The doctors rushed him into the emergency room.

The red light above the theatre came on.

Everyone waited outside.

Minutes felt like hours.

Even Lola stood in the corner, trembling.

For the first time, she saw the pain she had caused.

She remembered Queen Bethy's forgiveness...

ZUBBY's kindness...

And Adelaide's tears.

She collapsed onto the floor.

"What have I become?" she cried.

When the doctor finally came out, everyone rushed toward him.

The doctor's face was serious.

"The poison was very powerful..."

He paused.

Everyone held their breath.

"But..."

"ZUBBY is alive."

Tears of joy filled the hallway.

Adelaide hugged Queen Bethy tightly.

Lola fell to her knees before them.

"I don't deserve your forgiveness."

"I've destroyed lives... I've become a monster."

Queen Bethy looked at her with tears in her eyes.

"True repentance begins when you admit your wrongs."

Lola stretched out her hands to the police officers.

"I won't run anymore."

"I'll face the consequences of everything I've done."

As the officers led her away, she turned to Adelaide.

"I'm sorry..."

Adelaide nodded through her tears.

"I forgive you... but now you must change."

Months later...

ZUBBY recovered completely.

Adelaide's mother received life-saving treatment from a charity that covered all her medical expenses. Slowly, her strength began to return.

Under the giant mango tree where they had once shared tears, ZUBBY knelt before Adelaide with a simple ring.

"Life knocked us down again and again..."

"But love kept us standing."

"Adelaide..."

"Will you marry me?"

Adelaide smiled through happy tears.

"Yes... a thousand times, yes."

The whole village erupted in cheers.

Queen Bethy looked up at the sky and whispered,

"My husband... our son has finally found his happiness."

From that day on, ZUBBY and Adelaide built a home where love, forgiveness, and hope were stronger than hatred.

And the words Queen Bethy had spoken for years became the family's legacy:

> "No matter how many times life knocks you down... STILL, I STAND."

STILL I STAND

Episode 5: The Woman Who Returned From the Grave

The village square fell silent.

Adelaide stared at the stranger as tears filled her eyes.

"What did you just say?"

The man took a deep breath.

"Your mother is alive."

Adelaide stepped back in disbelief.

"You're lying! I buried her with my own hands when I was twelve."

The stranger slowly removed a worn envelope from his bag.

Inside was an old photograph.

It showed Adelaide's mother standing beside him.

The photograph had been taken only a few months earlier.

Adelaide's legs became weak.

"This... this can't be true."

The man introduced himself.

"My name is David. I work at a mission hospital in another state. Your mother asked me to find you before it's too late."

Queen Bethy and ZUBBY looked at each other in shock.

"But whose body did we bury?" Queen Bethy asked.

David lowered his head.

"The woman who died was your mother's closest friend. They looked almost exactly alike. During an attack on their village years ago, they were separated. Everyone believed your mother had died, but she survived and lost her memory."

Adelaide burst into tears.

"My mother has been alive all these years... and she never knew I was searching for her?"

David nodded.

"She regained her memory only a few weeks ago. Since then, she has spoken only one name..."

"Adelaide."

Without wasting another minute, ZUBBY said,

"We're leaving now."

Queen Bethy smiled through her tears.

"Bring my daughter home."

---

The next morning, ZUBBY, Adelaide, David, and little Tunde set off on the long journey.

After hours of travel, they reached the mission hospital.

David pointed toward a small room.

"She's inside."

Adelaide's heart pounded so loudly she could hear it.

She slowly opened the door.

An elderly woman sat by the window, staring into the distance.

As if she had sensed something, she turned around.

Their eyes met.

For a moment...

Time stood still.

"My... Adelaide?" the woman whispered.

"Mama!" Adelaide cried.

She ran into her mother's arms.

The two held each other tightly, weeping without words.

Even the nurses wiped tears from their eyes.

ZUBBY quietly thanked God.

After years of pain...

A broken family had finally found each other.

But their joy did not last long.

One of the doctors entered the room with a serious expression.

"I'm sorry," he said gently.

"We've received the latest test results."

Everyone became silent.

The doctor looked at Adelaide's mother.

"The illness has spread."

"There is very little time left."

Adelaide felt the world collapse beneath her feet.

"No..."

Her mother held her hand and smiled weakly.

"My daughter... don't cry."

"I waited years just to see your face one more time."

Then she turned to ZUBBY.

"Promise me..."

"No matter what happens..."

"Never stop protecting my daughter."

ZUBBY nodded with tears in his eyes.

"I promise."

Just then, David's phone rang.

His face suddenly turned pale.

He looked at ZUBBY and whispered,

"We have a problem."

"What is it?"

David swallowed hard.

"Lola has escaped from police custody..."

"...and she's coming here."

THE BOUNDARY OF BLOOD

Long before hatred divided the two villages, King Adanu and King Obaje were more than neighboring rulers—they were brothers by choice.

When one kingdom suffered drought, the other shared its harvest.

When one king celebrated, the other danced beside him.

Their children grew up together. Their wives called each other sisters. The people believed their friendship would last forever.

Then one day, everything changed.

A small piece of land between the two communities became the center of an argument.

"It belongs to my ancestors," King Adanu declared.

"No," King Obaje replied. "It belongs to my forefathers."

The land was too small to feed a family, yet pride made it bigger than both kingdoms.

The elders begged them to make peace.

The women cried.

The children asked, "Why are our fathers now enemies?"

But anger had already closed their ears.

One morning, warriors stood at the boundary with weapons instead of farming tools. Brothers who once ate from the same plate now faced each other with hatred in their hearts.

The battle lasted for days.

Many fathers never returned home.

Many mothers became widows.

Many children became orphans.

Yet the land remained exactly where it had always been.

Years later, both kings had grown old.

King Adanu leaned on his walking stick, while King Obaje's once-powerful voice had become weak.

They stood again on the same boundary where thousands had shed their blood.

Neither kingdom had truly won.

Their villages had become poorer.

Their people had become fewer.

Their hearts had become emptier.

As tears rolled down King Adanu's face, he whispered,

> "We fought over land... but lost the people who made the land worth living on."

King Obaje could no longer hold back his tears.

He walked forward, stretched out his trembling hand, and said,

> "My brother... forgive me."

For a long moment, silence covered the land that had caused so much pain.

Then the two old kings embraced.

The people who had waited years for peace burst into tears.

No one remembered who owned the boundary anymore.

Everyone only remembered the lives that had been lost because two friends allowed pride to become stronger than love.

That day, they planted a giant tree on the disputed land.

Instead of calling it The Boundary of War, they named it The Tree of Peace.

And every child born afterward was told one lesson:

"Land can be shared. Pride cannot. When pride rules the heart, even brothers become enemies. But when forgiveness returns, even enemies can become family again."

Sometimes, the greatest victory is not winning the land... it is saving the people. ❤️
