A NEW CHIEF OF KARU CHIEFDOM (FCT) EMERGES

The Hon. Minister of FCT Barr. Nyesom Wike has approved the appointment of HRH Joseph Danfulani Narai as the Sakaruyi of Karu a second class Chief in FCT with effect from April 22, 2024.
He emerged as the new Chief following the transition to glory of the former chief HRH (Dr) Emmanuel Kyauta Yepwi JP who passed in 2023.

Presenting the letter of appointment in his office to HRH Joseph Danfulani Narai on behalf of the Minister, the Mandate Secretary Area Councils Services Secretariat (ACSS) Hon. Bitrus Lawrence Garki mentioned that Narai emerged as the Sakaruyi of karu after a successful scrutiny, voting process and traditional rites carried out by the Karu Chiefdom Kingmakers in line with the customs and traditions of the Karu Traditional Council.

Congratulating the new Chief, the Mandate Secretary Noted that Karu Chiefdom is one of the fastest developing Chiefdom among the 17 Chiefdoms in the FCT therefore the HRH Joseph Narai must take cognizance of the fact that the Traditional Office demands a high sense of responsibility, maturity and commitment to move the Chiefdom to higher heights.

In a further address to the new Chief, Bitrus assured the Chief that the FCT Administration will work in synergy with him in favour of the Chiefdom. He therefore called on him to give his maximum support to the FCT Administration so as to achieve her mandate and her main objective of fostering growth and development in the grassroots.

The coronation date for the new Sakaruyi of Karu will be announced in due time.
