WHO ARE YOU?
I'm guessing you think you know.....
There are more young people than you can imagine seeking a job or another in Africa. The situation is the same from Cape Town to Cairo, and the jobs are simply not enough to go round.
There is need for more job opportunities, unfortunately, those who are supposed to be creating them are too busy distributing their own CVs! If you ask them, they will tell you that they need capital to get started and the best way to raise a capital is through salary. While this might work, it's not fullproof, why?
Before I share my opinion on the reasons why a job may not help you raise capital, let's take a second look at people who aren't supposed to be job seekers.
Do you know the basic difference between job seekers and entrepreneurs? Their DNA ...
Job seekers are basically people who chose job security over financial autonomy; They are fear- driven and just want to be taken care of by others (Governments, Multinational corporations, Companies, Foundations etc)
Are these bad people? No, not at all. On the contrary, they are necessary for growth and development. Without them, nothing will ever work! There is a very good reason why God created them that way. Just imagine how the world would be if nobody works for anyone else but themselves. If that doesn't define chaos, I don't know what else will. So clap for yourself if you belong to this group 👏. Think about the soldier ants as you clap. You guys are sane and problem-free! Kudos
But not all who are employed deserve to be. There are people who aren't in this group disguised as part of the group. Those are people who have got the entrepreneural DNA but are too lazy to show love to entrepreneurship! Talking about wolves in sheep clothing 😁. That's a bit harsh, I apologise, but I'm calling you out. Yes, you!
How did you get busted? You always post TGIF! 😆
This means that you survive from Friday to Friday, and come alive during weekends. Does that sound like an exciting job to you? A job that makes you sick and bored from 9 to 5 or 8 to 4 and you are consistently conscious of closing time! Let's not argue, we all know that nothing is exciting about it, except SALARY and his little 'brother'.
My best definition of an entrepreneur is the one that suggested that you to drop off from a high-flying plane, above the clouds and begin to assemble a parachute (Which only exist in your mind) on your way down! You see why people think you guys are crazy? Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Sarah Blakeley, Damon John, Richard Bronson, Steve Jobs etc, are all crazy people who believed they can change the world and didn't/don't TGIF!
Entrepreneurs, ladies and gentlemen, are insane people, regrettably so 😔, but the world WON'T work without them. Think of the Queen in the antshill. Without them, you won't be reading this post (Zucks made it possible), you won't have the phone, laptop, car, aeroplane, etc. Nothing! So, please we need more crazy people, don't hide your craze 😜
Finally, (Don't heave a sigh yet; part two is loading) there is no harm in being an employee or employer, just make sure you are in the right lane and don't be misguided. If you don't hear any song in your head, you are probably an employee, don't attempt to start a business. It's murder! Meanwhile, if you hear strange conversation in your head, two mad people arguing all the time: you are probably an entrepreneur and also mad. Please own up, tell the person sitting next to you that you are mad 😂 .. And most importantly, tear your CV! You can thank me later..
