The federal government has rejected recent reports by the US Congress alleging targeted killings of Christians in Nigeria.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in a statement by its acting spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, on Friday described the report as part of a misleading campaign aimed at influencing foreign governments to designate the country as a “Country of Particular Concern” due to violence against Christians

More drug peddlers nabbed, as Palace intensifies effort to rid Asaba of illicit drug dealers.

Earlier today, security officials continued the raid on illicit drugs bunks in Asaba, in line with the resolve of HRM, Asagba Prof. Epiphany Chigbogu Azinge SAN OON, to make sure the prevalence of drug abuse amongst Asaba youths is nipped in the bud.

Recall that earlier in the week, some drug infested areas such as Umuekwo and Mami Market were raided, were a sizeable number of drug users were arrested and are presently in the custody of security officials.

However, today's raid had a more appreciable impact as a number of drug markerters were apprehended in their operational bases with substances they confessed to be co**in. These drug marketers were nabbed at Umunkwo, Uda Layout and Cable Point and are presently in the custody of security officials ,who have their exhibits.

We thank well-spirited Umu Ahaba who have shown solidarity towards the drive to tackle the menace of illicit drugs in Asaba. Let's be rest assured that our fears about getting to the major dealers have not gone unnoticed. Its a security issue and we are doing all we can to manage information, so that at the end, it will be goodbye to drug business in Asaba.

We will appreciate any information that we can get from the public to make this drive fruitful.

Let's be rest assured that your identities are safe, as what is more important to us now,is to either get the dealers to stop or flee.

President Bola Tinubu has assured Nigerians that his administration remains steadfast in its commitment to national progress, despite ongoing criticism from opposition voices.

The President said this while addressing members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Caucus at the State House Conference Center in Abuja on Tuesday night, February 25.

The President emphasised that his government is focused on delivering tangible results rather than engaging in political distractions.

“Our determination to deliver is unshaken despite the cacophony of misguided, unfounded, and gloomy claims made by our detractors, they will continue to talk, but we are extremely focused,” Tinubu declared.

The President acknowledged that the implementation of certain economic policies such as the removal of fuel subsidies has posed challenges, but he insisted that such reforms were necessary to stabilise the nation’s economy. He argued that Nigeria could not have survived under the previous subsidy regime, emphasising that state governments are now receiving increased allocations that enable them to execute development projects effectively.

“It is a daunting challenge. The policies are difficult, but there was no way Nigeria would have survived with the burden of fuel subsidies. Today, I can beat my chest and say that each governor here knows that their allocations to the states have tripled. We have enough funding for the local governments.” he said
