Happy New Month Message

“As we step into this new month, let us remember that every sunrise is a divine reminder that purpose still beckons. Like seeds planted in due season, our efforts shall yield increase if we faint not (Galatians 6:9). May wisdom guide our steps, strength sustain our vision, and faith anchor our pursuits. Welcome to a month of renewed hope, divine progress, and fulfilling impact.”

Numbers and Narratives: A Teacher’s Reflections

The Best Investment You’ll Ever Make Is in Your Child’s Education!

By Olise Neme

Dear Parents, here’s a little truth from a teacher’s heart...

It’s not enough to provide your children with the basics of life — food, shelter, and clothing.
Nothing truly compares to the value of a quality education( feed their minds, not jus their bodies)

A good formal education builds academic knowledge through structured schooling, while informal education shapes character, discipline, and practical life skills through everyday experiences. Together, they produce confident and well-rounded individuals.

Having taught in Kwale, Delta State for six years, I’ve seen firsthand how much parental involvement matters.

There’s one parent I deeply admire — a man who doesn’t just pay school fees; he invests in his children’s growth.

He organizes extra lessons in key subjects.

He encourages vocational training during holidays.

He instills respect, discipline, and hard work at home.

And the result? His children always stand out — intelligent, respectful, and confident.

What Research Reveals

Studies consistently show that children whose parents actively engage in their learning perform better academically, socially, and emotionally.
In simple terms — when parents get involved, children learn better, stay motivated, and grow stronger in confidence.

The message is simple:

Don’t just send your kids to school — get involved.

Don’t just pay tuition — pay attention.

Don’t just provide — participate.

Education is the best legacy you can ever give your child. Feed their minds as you feed their bodies — and you’ll raise children who fear no challenge.

Numbers and Narratives: A Teacher’s Reflections

When a Father’s Words Solved the Equation.

By Olise Neme

A few days to my wedding in December 2019, I got a call from a respected senior colleague — a man of integrity and one of the finest English teachers I know in kwale. He recommended me to a friend, an Associate Professor, who needed a home tutor for his daughter in Jss one.

After my wedding, I resumed lessons — only to meet a young girl who had zero interest in Mathematics. I tried every method, but nothing worked. One day, I spoke to her father about it. He called her and shared his life story — how he lost his dad early, struggled with his widowed mother and five siblings, and was sponsored by his church because of his passion for learning.

Tears rolled down her cheeks as he said,

“You are my investment and my first child. I want you to have a better life than I did. Make me proud.”

That day changed everything. From then on, she became focused, teachable, and eager to learn. Years later, her father called me, excited:

“She got a B in Mathematics. You built her foundation.”

I smiled — because I knew he did half the work. His words sparked the change.

💡Moral

Parents, paying school fees isn’t enough. Get involved in your child’s learning journey. Your voice, time, and interest can turn resistance into results. Teachers shape minds — but your involvement fuels the transformation.

“Just as every parameter in an equation holds its place, every element in life deserves its due attention for harmony to exist.”

Numbers and Narratives: A Teacher’s Reflections

“The Unsung Architects of Greatness”

By Olise Neme

Two solid decades — twenty fruitful years — devoted to the study and teaching of mathematics. A journey of countless lessons, challenges, and triumphs. A journey that has refined my patience, strengthened my resolve, and revealed my inner strength.

Teaching, for me, has never been just a profession. It is a divine calling — the noble art of shaping lives, molding dreams, and building destinies.

Teachers are the silent sowers of seeds — planting wisdom in fertile minds, nurturing potential with patience and passion. In time, those seeds grow into mighty trees: world-class engineers, eloquent lawyers, brilliant doctors, creative entrepreneurs, and great leaders. The world celebrates the fruits, but often forgets the hand that planted the seed.

Too often, the teacher — the architect of greatness — remains in the shadows. We work tirelessly, sometimes in lack, sometimes in hunger, yet our hearts burn with commitment. We may not have riches, but we hold the keys to the future.

Our task is one of the hardest, yet the least celebrated. Society often misunderstands us. Some mock the teaching profession, calling it a refuge for those who have lost ambition. But they know not the sacred joy of watching a once-confused child suddenly understand, or the quiet pride of seeing a former student become a beacon in the world.

I do not blame them entirely, for years of poor policy and neglect have pushed education to the background. But amidst all this, I find hope — a new dawn is rising.

Today, the world is witnessing a global educational revolution. Through the power of social media, teachers can now share their voices, tell their stories, and let the world see their worth. No longer must we be hidden heroes — we can stand tall and proud, showcasing our impact and influence.

Fellow teachers, this is our time. Let us not allow frustration or unfavourable systems to quench our passion. Stay true to your purpose. Keep building, keep teaching, keep inspiring.

The world may not always sing our praises, but history will remember us as the unsung architects of greatness.

We shall be celebrated. 🌍📚✨
