Honorable. Abdulazeez Yakubu Set to Distribute Over 20,000 Notebooks to Students Across Irepodun LGA
The Executive Chairman of Irepodun Local Government Area, Hon. Abdulazeez Yakubu Aremu, has once again demonstrated his commitment to the future of education in the local government as he set to commence the distribution of over 20,000 notebooks to students across schools in Irepodun.
The notebooks, which were delivered to the Secretariat earlier today, sparked joy and excitement among parents, teachers, and community members, many of whom described the gesture as timely. At a time when families are grappling with the effects of economic hardship, this intervention is expected to ease the financial burden on parents who often struggle to provide basic learning materials for their children.
Speaking on the initiative, the Executive Chairman stated that the distribution of the notebooks is part of his administration’s ongoing efforts to make education not only accessible but also less burdensome for families. According to him, the intervention complements earlier strides in the education sector, such as the renovation of classrooms, rehabilitation of schools, and the landmark reconstruction of the burnt School for Special Needs in Omu-Aran.
“This is about investing in our children, because they are the future of Irepodun. We must give them the tools to learn, grow, and succeed. By supporting parents in this little way, we are helping to secure the bigger picture of development,” Hon. Yakubu said.
The people of Irepodun have lauded the initiative, describing it as further proof that the administration is attentive to the needs of its people. For them, this is more than just notebooks—it is a symbol of hope, relief, and the promise of a brighter future for the younger generation.
