LETTER OF URGENT IMPORTANCE

The people of B.A.D garage, Along Command Secondary school, Lafia , Nasarawa State wish to write this letter to the prominent individuals across the State ( The Governor, the Senator, Member House of Representatives Lafia/Obi Federal Constituency, Member Representing Lafia Central, The Executive Chairman, the Comissioners Trade, Commerce, & Industry and the councillors) that the issue of default in the Transformer which was identified by Abuja Electricity Distribution Company Lafia branch( A.E.D.C) that the coil in the transformer located at B.A. D garage has collapsed for couple of three months which left the community suffering from electricity supply.

However, a community without electricity is described as a village as many villages in the State so far are having constant electricity. People who are into businesses within the territory have started to have issue due to lack of electricity, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company came and could not rectified the problem which left people of the community in a serious problem without having access to constant water supply and electricity.

On this note, we are pleading with these prominent individuals to come to our rescue as to address this challenge within a short possible time which is providing the transformer with the coil to enable the functioning of the transformer as the people of that community will have access to electricity by enjoying the divine of democracy.

Thank you for your understanding as resolving this issue will show how unwavering commitment and significant contribution service you are giving to the society.

APPEAL FOR THE RELEASE OF DETAINED CHILDREN FOLLOWING HUNGER PROTEST

Dear Government Officials/Stakeholders

I am writing to express deep concern and request your immediate attention to the prolonged detention of children following the recent hunger protest. As advocates for the rights and well-being of all citizens, especially the vulnerable youth, it is crucial to address this matter in a way that respects their dignity and supports their future.

The continuation of these children's detention has raised serious concerns about the impact on their physical and emotional well-being, as well as the potential for long-term harm. Children, by nature, are impressionable and deserving of a nurturing environment that prioritizes their welfare and education. Detaining them not only deprives them of these opportunities but risks exposing them to adverse experiences that can hinder their development and damage their trust in societal systems meant to protect them.

Moreover, international human rights standards, including the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (to which Nigeria is a signatory), stress that detention should always be a measure of last resort and for the shortest possible time. In cases involving children, emphasis should be placed on rehabilitation and re-integration rather than punitive measures. Addressing their grievances and supporting their re-integration can prevent future unrest and contribute to a more peaceful, understanding society.

In light of the above, I respectfully urge the Nigerian government and all relevant stakeholders to consider the immediate release of these children from detention. I appeal to you to explore alternative solutions that align with national and international commitments to child rights and justice. By taking this step, Nigeria will demonstrate its dedication to protecting the rights and futures of its youngest citizens, ensuring a foundation of trust, peace and progress for all.

Engr. Prof. Mohammed Sani Haruna OFR, MNI, his a former Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI). He holds a PhD and Master of Engineering degree in Electrical engineering from the Bayero University Kano and a second PhD and Master of Philosophy degrees in Entrepreneurship from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT) Nairobi-kenya. He is a fellow of Nigerian Academy of Engineering (FAEng); a Registered Chartered Engineer with United Kingdom Engineering Council ( U.K); COREN registered; a fellow of the UK based Intuition of Engineering and Technology (IET); a fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (FNSE) and a fellow of Solar Energy Society of Nigeria (FSESN) among others. He has varied publications in national and international journals, and he is an author of three reputable textbooks. Prof Mohammed Sani Haruna has recorded several remarkable achievement that has intervened in various sectors of national development.

Notable are the successful take-off of NASENI Solar Energy Limited ( NSEL) which manufacturers Solar modules project on establishment of transformer manufacturing plant; high voltage laboratory; development of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and food processing machineries for agricultural purposes; electronic voting solution to curb electoral malpractices; the Nationwide tractor recovery; innovative modular irrigation system; and adoption and domestication of future production technology such as virtual reality, application of manufacturing, intelligence, Advanced Manufacturing, CAD/CAM and additive manufacturing.

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he recently spearheaded the development of first made in Nigeria Ventilator, 3D face mask and automated environmental disinfectant spraying machines. Haruna is also a visiting professor to Nile University of Nigeria
