One of the greatest powers fortune has given to the modern lady is the power to decide who she will be saying “yes” to. This has deleted every blame any lady would want to put on any other person except herself.
Whatever man any lady is living with today, she said “yes” to him. Even when you have realized that you made a mistake, honour demands that you own up and tell yourself, “This was my mistake.”
If ladies understand how much power they were given when fortune decided they would have to consent before a man can proceed, they would exercise that right with audacious discretion.
The unfortunate reality, however, is that when a lady has not built her character and self-worth well enough, instead of being the one to choose from a waiting list of interested suitors, she becomes a desperate lady waiting for who will select her.
Every young lady has to understand that the capacity to exercise this right with unapprehensive boldness totally depends on how well she develops and trains herself.
A lady should never be at the mercy of any man. But this is mostly possible only when the lady trains and develops her self-worth. The choice of who you decide to marry is the reflection of your wisdom. If you are well trained, you would have to say "no" several times before you find that one person that deserves your "yes".
