BREAKING: DSS RELEASES, COMPENSATES CARPENTER WRONGLY HELD OVER OYO SCHOOL ATTACK.

The Department of State Services has freed and paid compensation to Mustapha Marwana, a carpenter who was wrongly arrested in connection with the May 15 attack on schools in Oriire, Oyo State.

A security source told _Punch_ that the DSS Director-General, Tosin Ajayi, ordered Marwana’s release after an internal investigation cleared him.

According to the source, a DSS panel conducted a full probe and found that the Katsina-born artisan had no links to any terrorist group and no ties to Ansaru, the group blamed for the attack.

“Investigators found no evidence linking him to membership, funding, logistics or operations of the terrorist group,” the source said.

Following the findings, the DG approved Marwana’s immediate release and an initial payment of ₦3 million to help him restart his life. He was released to his lawyer, Oghene Forgive.

Recall that gunmen suspected to be Ansaru terrorists attacked Community Grammar School, Baptist Nursery/Primary School and L.A. Primary School on May 15, abducting 39 pupils and 7 teachers. Two victims were killed. The rest were freed on July 10 after a military operation.

Several suspects have been arraigned in Abuja, with 3 already sentenced to life after pleading guilty.

IT IS TRULY KWARA NORTH O’CLOCK! 🕰️🔥

Among the major governorship contenders in Kwara State, I strongly believe that Zakari Mohammed of the ADC stands out as one of the most suitable candidates for the Kwara North agenda.

When we examine his antecedents, experience, public service record, and political independence, Zakari Mohammed has demonstrated a level of exposure and experience that deserves serious consideration. His years of service as a former member of the House of Representatives have given him valuable legislative and political experience, as well as a deeper understanding of governance and representation.

His record of projects and interventions also speaks to his capacity to deliver. In my assessment, he has demonstrated more visible developmental contributions than some of the other prominent contenders, including SYD and Kale Kawu. His acceptance and recognition extend beyond his immediate political base, showing that his influence is not limited to one community or constituency.

But beyond projects, positions, and experience, there is one issue that makes Zakari Mohammed particularly attractive to me: political independence.

If Kwara North is genuinely demanding a change from the old system of godfatherism and political control, then we must be careful about electing a governor who would be overly dependent on a political godfather after assuming office.

We want a governor who will be accountable to the people of Kwara State, not one who will have to operate under the dictates of an individual or political establishment. We want a government where decisions are made in the interest of the people, where institutions are respected, and where the governor has the freedom to govern without becoming subordinate to a godfather.

That is the kind of Kwara North we are advocating for.

Our demand is not merely for someone from Kwara North to occupy the Government House. We are demanding good governance, transparency, justice, accountability, and genuine political independence.

Therefore, if you believe that Kwara State deserves a new political direction—one free from excessive godfatherism and political domination—then Zakari Mohammed of the ADC deserves your serious consideration.

Vote Zakari Mohammed for Governor.Vote ADC.Vote for transparency, justice, accountability, and a truly independent government.

Kwara North O’CLOCK! 🕰️🔥

May Allah guide us to what is best for Kwara State. 🤲🏽

RT. HON. Zakari Mohammed WELCOMES THE RELEASE OF THE YASHIKIRA ROYAL FAMILY MEMBERS, COMMENDS SECURITY AGENCIES, AND CALLS FOR DECISIVE ACTION AGAINST TERRORISTS.

I receive with profound gratitude to Almighty Allah the cheering news of the safe release and return of the members of the Yashikira Royal Family who were abducted during the unfortunate terrorist attack on the Emir's Palace.

This joyful development has brought relief not only to the Emirate but also to the entire people of Baruten Local Government Area, Kwara North Senatorial District, Kwara State, and all lovers of peace across Nigeria.

I congratulate His Royal Highness, Alhaji Ambassador Umar Sarki Usman, the Emir of Yashikira, the Royal Family, and the resilient people of Yashikira and Baruten on this momentous occasion. Their courage, patience, and unwavering faith throughout this painful period are truly commendable.

I sincerely appreciate the gallant security agencies, whose professionalism, commitment, and sacrifices contributed immensely to this successful outcome.

I also thank the Federal Government and the Kwara State Government for their efforts and support throughout the Similarly the local Hunters and vigilante groups in the area must be commended for their Bravery and patriotism.
While we celebrate this welcome development, it is imperative to stress that this should not mark the end of government intervention. The growing activities of the Lakurawa terrorist group, which has turned the Kainji Lake National Park and its surrounding forests into operational hideouts, remain a grave threat to the safety of our people.

I therefore call on the Federal Government, in collaboration with the Kwara State Government and relevant security agencies, to establish permanent security structures, including well-equipped military and other security formations, across vulnerable communities in Baruten, Kaiama, and other parts of Kwara North. The terrorists must be flushed out completely, their camps dismantled, and the Kainji Lake National Park reclaimed from criminal elements.

Our people deserve to live without fear. Sustainable peace can only be achieved through continuous security presence, effective intelligence gathering, and coordinated operations that permanently eliminate these criminal networks.
As we rejoice with the Emirate over the safe return of the victims, let us remain united in our collective resolve to restore lasting peace and security to our communities.

May Almighty Allah continue to protect our traditional institutions, strengthen our security personnel, comfort all victims of insecurity, and grant lasting peace to Yashikira Emirate, Baruten Local Government Area, Kwara State, and Nigeria.

E-Signed:

Rt. Hon. Zakari Mohammed
Governorship Candidate, African Democratic Congress (ADC), Kwara State

From A*o Ebi to Army detention ....how did we get here?

So Peller & Jarvis pull off one of the biggest celebrity weddings this year, and the next headline is Nigerian Army allegedly arrested 2 serving soldiers who were spotted escorting guests at the wedding?

Videos went viral. Soldiers in uniform doing bouncer work for influencers. And Nigerians are asking the RIGHT question.

Since when did serving military officers become private security for celebrity events?

Here’s my take:
Yes, the soldiers should face the consequences IF they went without authorization. Discipline is what separates military from agbero.

But let's be honest ....soldiers don't just wake up and decide to go and secure wedding. Somebody OGA somewhere approved or sent them. If you want to clean the system, don't just punish the juniors, follow the order chain.

You can't be punishing the foot soldier while the person who collected the money is drinking champagne at the same wedding.

What do you think ....scapegoats or guilty as charged?

BREAKING NEWS💢: Bandits Attack Kwara Community, Kill Woman, Abduct Resident As Villagers Flee Into Bushes.

Spected bandits on Sunday morning launched a deadly attack on Lata Nna community in Patigi Local Government Area of Kwara State, killing a woman, abducting another resident and leaving several others feared dead.

Multiple residents who spoke to SaharaReporters said the attack was still ongoing as of the time of filing this report. They said the heavily armed assailants stormed the community, firing indiscriminately and forcing residents to flee into nearby bushes and other safe locations.

residents decried the absence of security personnel, accusing the authorities of failing to protect the community despite repeated appeals over persistent security threats in the area.

One of the residents said, "Lata Nna is currently under attack right now by bandits."

The latest assault comes barely a day after a resident identified as Mohammed Abubakar Ndakpada Lata was abducted by suspected bandits while returning from his farm, with his captors reportedly demanding ₦100 million ransom for his release

Offa ConnectTv" a resident said the attackers killed villagers, adding that the exact number of casualties had yet to be established.

"Some people were killed. The victims were at the back of the village. They were just killed there," the source said.

"As I'm speaking with you, I have not yet confirmed the total number of people killed. However, I can confirm that one Nupe woman was killed. She had gone behind the village to fetch firewood and was attacked.

"The woman is dead. People are now searching the area, and we will know later if there are more victims. As I'm talking to you, I cannot confirm that yet."

The resident narrated how the attack caught the community by surprise, noting that there was no security presence when the gunmen struck.

The gunshots were not from locally made guns. We believe the attackers came unexpectedly. The vigilantes responded, but before they got there, they confirmed that one woman had already been killed.”

The resident lamented that the latest attack was only one in a long series of invasions that have turned life in the community into a nightmare, saying kidnappings and killings have become almost a daily occurrence.

Responding to a question on whether the attack was the first on the community, the source said: "Just the day before yesterday, my uncle was kidnapped while returning from his farm. The farm is less than two kilometres from the village. Yesterday, the kidnappers called and demanded a ransom of ₦100 million.

"Yes, he is still in their custody. These attacks happen almost every day. We have repeatedly appealed to the government to establish a military camp in our community, but they keep telling us the process is ongoing. Meanwhile, people are being killed and kidnapped every day. I don't know what is going on."

Residents said the continued attacks have left the community living in fear, as armed bandits reportedly move freely through the area while villagers remain vulnerable to repeated kidnappings and killings.
