“Don’t Take Credit for My Projects,” — Former Abia Governor Ikpeazu Warns Successor Alex Otti
Former Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, has issued a caution to his successor, Governor Alex Otti, urging him not to take credit for projects initiated or completed under his administration.
Ikpeazu, who served from 2015 to 2023, stressed that governance should be built on continuity, honesty, and service to the people, not political showmanship.
He maintained that many of the ongoing developments across the state were conceived, designed, and executed during his tenure, and therefore should not be rebranded as new achievements.
The former governor advised the current administration to focus on sustaining progress and fulfilling its campaign promises rather than, in his words, “rewriting history for political advantage.”
