A young man named Okechukwu in my village saw his father beating his mother. In fact, his father had been beating her for as long as he could remember.

One fateful day, he could no longer bear it. He stepped in and fought his father to stop the abuse.

People around them said he had brought a curse upon himself for fighting the man who gave birth to him.

But what if he had stood by and allowed his father to beat his mother to death? Nobody seems to look at it from that perspective.

My question is: Was his action right or wrong?

What do you think Okechukwu should have done at that moment when he saw his father beating his mother?
